With IOS 26, Apple has developed its feature recording of traditional telephone calls, live translation, summaries and difficult combinations. Molded and useful tool than ever before, especially if you rely on your iPhone conversations, meetings or important conversations.
The recording of the calls itself came for the first time with IOS 18.1 on October 2024. The feature has been dependent- and language – depending on, and that has not changed. When available where you live, you can capture calls directly from the phone app without external company apps or hardware apps. If not, there are still other ways to know about them. Here’s how it works, and what you should do if the option is not available in your country.
How to check if the recording of the call is available
First, make sure the feature is supported in your region. Apple keeps a feature of the calculator page when the recording of the call can be given, including the European Union, Saudi Arabia and South Africa. If your country is listed, you will not see the option in the phone app.
Before recording your phone, you will need a person’s permission on the other side of the line. When you first recorded, both groups heard a noise notice that explained that the phone is recorded.
You can record a call on the iPhone
Calling the device is straight:

During a call, tap Much button.
Phone continues as usual, but iPhone automatically saves noise when hanging or tap Stop. You will find everything recorded in the IOS ‘Native Awtes app, inside the folder called telecommunications.
How to play back, Manage and remove recording
To listen back, open notes, go to phone recording folder, and touch the desired file. Tap Play to hear it.
From here, you can:

Search: Tap Much button and select Find in writing.

Copy: Tap Much button and select Add text to be careful either Copy the text.

Save: Tap Much button and select Save audio filesThen select where you want to save recording (other folder or app).

Share: Tap Much button and select Share the soundand choose how you want to share it by recording

Remove: Tap Much button and select Erase. This removes the recording and any related text.
How to write your calls
If your region and language are supported, IOS 26 is also writing calls. Open Records in Notes, and Touch Show text and summary. The processor can take a few times, but when it’s ready, you will see a brilliant conversation under the speaker. From there, you can view the text, copy in another note or tap the line to exceed that part of the audio. Apple warns the texts may not be wrong, so twice as to make sure important information is correct.
Apple Intelligence summaries
With the Apple Intelligence changed, you will also find a summary of the phone. This is useful if you only need highlights – for example, the action items from a meeting or key points of discussion. Summary comes next to the text in notes.
How to shut down call recordings
Automatically, the recording of the call is enabled to internal devices. If you don’t want the option, Navigate Settingsselect Apps / Appsthen Telephonetap Call the recording Then turn off.
Alternatives if telephone recording is not available
If you are in the region where the built-in feature does not appear, or download the previous IOS version, there are other ways to record calls.
In the US, the federal law holds a single party permission. This means you can record a phone when you are actively engaging in the conversation. However, it is important to evaluate state laws (in the US) or relevant laws in your country before recording the call. Note that these options are not included with Apple notes or Apple’s intelligence, but they offer you backup if the official method is not supported in your area.

Google Word (US Only) Allows you to record incoming calls by pressing “4” to the keypad. Audio file appears in your Google Voice messages afterwards. The work is banned from incoming calls, and features will depend on your account.

External Records: You can connect a small recorder to your iPhone with USB-C or lightning, or copy a digital record next to your phone in the speaker mode. This keeps all offline, but noise quality may vary.

Specific: If you are able to access many devices, you can place your phone on the Speakerphone and at the same time using a separate device for an open voice app to record your phone. While noise quality may be in some parts, it is a possible way.
