Who pays for Trump’s fancy white ballroom?

President Donald Trump is currently dead while demolishing the East Wing of the white house in one of the most shocking acts of his second term. Trump plans to build a $250 million ballroom in its place, a structure that will dwarf the existing White House. But who pays for it? As it turns out, a lot of private companies and people. And, presumably, they now expect to get more access to Trump.
Trump did not bother to ask Congress or anyone else for destroying the public structure. And the white house has not released a list of companies contributing to this attack on American democracy. But Trump has hosted at least two dinners that appear to have been ballroom fundraising events. And reports have emerged where the companies are aligned.
Trump invited tech executives to a dinner at the White House in early September, and CBS News reports that the President’s meeting was “interpreted” by one company as an embassy where donations were made. That kind of language shows that Trump has once again used the MOB-BOSSIT mob style of language that he is known for. Trump cannot clearly say, “Give me money or I will make life difficult for your company.” But he has been directly promoted so often since taking office in January.
Trump had another dinner at the White House last week, and it brought out some big names in Tech and Crypto, including Apple, Google, Meta, and Microsoft, as well as Coinbase, and Ripple. Defense contractors such as Palantir and Lolheed Martin are also represented, as well as tobacco companies Altria and Reynolds American.
“A lot of you have been really generous,” Trump said at the dinner on Oct. 15. They said, ‘I will take it.’ “
The part of all this that seems to be shrouded in mystery is the – this exactly Amount of money each holding company. CBS News even broke the story last month when companies lined up to pay for Trump’s ballroom, and the news organization included several well-known figures. Lockheed Martin has pledged at least $10 million, according to CBS, while many other companies have pledged at least $5 million. But it remains to be seen whether there will be transparency from official sources.
Companies that have committed or are expected to commit, according to the Wall Street Journal:
- Altria Group
- Amazon
- an apple
- Booz Allen Hamilton
- A spider
- The coanbase
- A great seat where hundreds are worshipped
- HP
- Hard Rock International
- Lockheed Martin
- Music
- Microsanabimbimbilh
- Microsoft
- Nextera Energy
- The palantir
- RJ Reynolds
- T-mobile
- It broadcasts
- Union Pacific Railway
People and foundations expected to contribute, according to the journal:
There are some financial figures that we know more specifically because they were part of the settlements that came from the trumpets. YouTube pays $ 22 million for the ballroom, directed to a non-profit organization called the National Mall Trust, after it was allowed to eliminate the Trumps following the Trump Presidential Library.
The new White House Ballroom will have 90,000 square feet of space, according to the Trump administration, and there are reports that it will have a capacity of anywhere from 650-999 people. The main building of the White House, if you do not include the east and west wings, is only 55,000 square meters.
The American Institute of Architects said there was a review of the project back in August, something that was completely ignored. Trump has previously insisted he will not touch the existing White House, a claim we learned this week was a blatant lie.
“It’s not going to disrupt the current structure. It’s not going to be there. It’s going to approach it but not touch it, and pay respect to what’s there,” Trump said in July. “It’s my favorite. It’s my favorite place. I love it.”
The Treasury Department reportedly sent an email to employees on Monday telling them not to share photos of the layoffs. The Treasury building is next door to the White House, giving us a front row seat to the destruction. And seeing it from that perspective is shocking.
Yes, Trump’s destruction is disturbing because he is destroying a public building with an important history. But perhaps the most frightening thing of all is how it symbolizes Trump’s lack of bodyguards. If you had told someone a year ago, just before the November 2024 presidential election, that Trump would literally tear down the East Wing of the White House, they might have called you hysterical. And there aren’t many things that symbolize America’s emergence from facusmism more than the President destroying the white house.
It seems clear now that no one is going to step in and stop Trump if he wants to do something horrible. We see that in his murder of at least 34 people on boats in South America (he hit another one recently, according to a report on Wednesday from secret police in US cities. The courts may temporarily stand in his way, but Trump often seems to get what he wants in the end.
And all of that is done badly because the biggest corporations in America are giving him millions of dollars to do it. Obviously, the rules and ways to break them every day are more or less background noise in the national media. But it’s scary to think about what comes next. Nothing good, we know too much.
