President Donald Trump announced Monday that construction has begun on the New White House Ballroom – Privately Funded

“I am pleased to announce that the grounds of the White House have been broken to build a new, large, white ballroom for the White House,” Trump said on social media. “Completely separated from the White House itself, the East Wing is in its present state as part of this process, and will be more beautiful than ever when complete!

“For more than 150 years, every President has dreamed of getting the balltom in the White House to welcome people and good parties to finally get this much-needed project – at the cost of American taxpayers!” He continued. “The White House Ballroom is privately funded by many generous donors, major corporate America, and, yours truly. This ballroom will be used happily for generations to come!”

White House Press Secretary Kroline Leavet said during a briefing in July that construction of the new $200 million would begin in September and “be completed long before the end of the President’s term.”

His announcement came after a similar action earlier this year, when Trump personally sponsored the installation of two 88 American flags in the White House, reportedly for $50,000.

“The White House right now can’t hold large functions honoring world leaders in other countries without having to put up a huge and unattractive tent 100 yards away from the new ballroom”

He also said that the United States Civil Service will provide necessary safety improvements and modifications during construction.

The project is intended to provide a dedicated space for holding official events, star banquets and large festive gatherings.

The new 90,000-fourth addition will seat approximately 650 joint guests and will remain true to the White House design.

The White House does not have a formal ballroom, and the new ballroom will replace the current east wing of the White House.
