President Donald Trump kicks off a weeklong meeting with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albony, and shut down a week of jetting in Asia. And at home, the White House is set to build its own new ballroom — much to the chagrin of many Democrats.
Trump said construction began Monday and that the project would be privately funded. The project is estimated to cost $300 million, up from the $200 million estimate first floated in July when the project was unveiled.
“For more than 150 years, every President has dreamed of getting the balltom in the White House to welcome people and good parties to finally get this much-needed project – at the cost of American taxpayers!” Trump said in a social media post. “The The White House The ballroom is privately funded by many philanthropists, major American corporations, and yours truly. This ball item will be used for tales of happiness to come! “

However, the project is facing criticism as the White House East Ling wing has been completely demolished. The wing served as the official White House entrance, and was designated as the first lady’s quarters.
On Monday, Trump signed off on wanting to speed up Australia’s nuclear deal under a deal brokered between the US, Australia and the UK that seeks to boost Chinese power to curb Indo-Pacific influence.
The agreement, known as AKUSU, stipulates that the US will sell up to 200 Suclia-Class submarines to Australia, which are scheduled to be delivered as soon as they arrive in 2032. The agreement also works to build more attacks on Australian ships.
However, Trump told reporters that he was looking at matching Australia and submarines soon, when asked if he was interested in speeding up the process.

“Well he did that, yes … we got them going very, very quickly,” Trump told reporters on Monday.
However, Trump also said he did not believe the deal was necessary to fix China.
“I don’t think we’re going to need it,” Trump said of the trade deal. “I think we’ll be fine with China. China doesn’t want to do that. First of all, the United States is the best power in the world. And there’s nothing better, and nobody’s going to interfere.”

Meanwhile, Trump left Asia Friday, as he slept to meet the XI during the Asia-Pacific Cooper (APEC) summit.
This meeting will discuss the ongoing trade negotiations between the two countries, which increased when Beijing announced on Oct. 9 will include export controls. Rare Earth Magnets are used in products ranging from electric cars to F-35 Fighter Jets.
As a result, Trump said that the US will finalize a new tariff of 100% on all Chinese goods, which will take effect on November 1.
However, Trump has sought to neutralize the differences, and has spoken frequently about his relationship with the XI in recent weeks. In addition, he said he believes that an agreement will be reached between the two countries.
