The Sidekicks creator’s game reveals why Marvel’s reboot is destined to fail

This could include popular characters whose characters have (mostly) retired from the MCU, such as Steve Rogers and Tony Stark. Regarding the reset, Fege said that “‘X-Men’ is where that will happen next,” meaning that the Marvel Cinematic Universe will change enough to explain why the world is suddenly populated without its approval before now.
As a comic nerd for life, I’m fine with the last part… The MCU started before Disney had the rights to the X-Men, so it’s always going to take a goofy pstoon to bring this cinematic trend to any sort of satisfying end. However, bringing back Captain America and Iron Man means undoing most (if not all) of the Avengers: Endgame. Feige is trying to play down the idea of completely rebooting the MCU entirely, but the blunt truth is that if A lump You missed it, basically no part of established Lore is safe from getting a “reset.”
Marvel’s greatest (and last?)
I’m not rooting for surprise to fail, and I’m genuinely happy if this reboot can successfully return this cinematic platform to its heyday. But George RR’s recent words are proof that the franchise’s superfans are invested in every twist and turn. Plan great things for the characters and stories they love can be a quick way to drive those fans completely, and this is an audience the studio just can’t afford to lose.
That’s the dark twist here: It’s surprisingly a gamble that a reboot will bring back the kinds of mainstream audiences that guaranteed a billion movies. However, high-profile fatigue ensured that most diehard fans of the genre survived by seeing the entire film in theater programs, and talking about nothing but social media.
