The NYC health department has issued their latest update on Wednesday, following its original report on week. Since July 25, there have been 22 charges of legagionnaires in the entire area, as well as one death. Citizens in affected neighbors are told to receive medical care as soon as they begin to hear the symptoms of the disease, which is often like a cold.
“Anyone with debris must contact the health care provider as soon as possible,” said the deputy medical pin Toni Esssallenne in the Ncdoh statement.
Legionnaires is a type of pneumonia type (lung inflammation) caused by a variety of Legionella viruses, although often Legionella Pneumoni. These bacteria are widely found in the soil and clean water but are not harmful to people in their natural form. The problem begins when the germs come into and grow within certain water systems that can make it beautiful fog, as hot, cooling towers, or towers. People were breathing in this dirty mist, allowing germs to reach their lungs and to fill some body cells called a macrophage, calling Legionnaires. The most popular form of infections, called Pontiac Fever, occurs when bacteria reaches the respiratory tract.
Although not everyone is exposed to germs will be sick, the Legionsnaires’ can be serious, life-threatening, especially for symbols, especially for people more vulnerable than the beams. The immediate treatment of antibiotic may saving life, but many people will need to be allocated to the hospital regardless. Or medically, about 10% of the sick sick are killed by Legionnaires die (in the medical center, the death rate may be high as 25%).
The NYC Department of Health began reporting five Legionsnaires ‘cases’ in the center of Harlem last week, noting that other people still expect their test results. The current set of cases are scattered in all five (10027, 10030, 10035, 10037, and 10039). The authorities remain unsure about the outbreak, but they suspect that the dirty tower should be blamed, and examining all the active towers in the area. They noticed that construction plines are no mistake here, so residents can no longer drink water, bathe, cook and use their air conditioner without fear without fear. Legionnaires’ also no longer cultivated anyone from person.
While the social risk is low, officials still support anyone in the area to visit the doctor if they feel a fever.
“Legionnaires are successfully treated if available early, but senior elders, such as 50-year-olds, as 50 years old and those who have symptoms as soon as they begin taking care of the symptoms,” said Esssallenne.
