Boar’s head cheese is being recalled due to the presence of listeria monocytogenes.
Supreme Deli is helping with a product recall by the Ambriola company, a supplier of Boar’s head, after it was reported that some batches of pecorino romano cheese could be contaminated with bacteria, according to the Food and Drug Administration.
Two cheeses sold under the boar’s head brand, pocorino romano cheese and FS Romano cheese, are included in the recall.

Out of an abundance of caution, Boar’s Head has made the decision to withdraw all Ambriola company production of Boar’s Head. This includes Pecorino Pecorino Pecorino, which is not part of the recall.
The recalled items were distributed at Kroger Retail Stores in Kentucky and Indiana. They’re also stocked with clear plastic bowls-n-go containers of various sizes for deli salads and wraps, according to the notice.

The Ambriola company discovered the potential contamination and issued a class recall of these items. You remember being classified as I, II or III to indicate a moderate level of health.

The class I have in mind is defined as “a situation where it is likely that the use of, or exposure to, an infringing product will cause adverse health effects or death.”
Listeria in particular Danger to people You are 65 years old and older, as well as pregnant women or people with weak immune systems.
Even in mild illness, listeria can cause pregnancy loss or premature birth, and serious illness or death in newborns.
So far, there have been no illnesses or consumer complaints reported so far for products purchased from Pakami.
Consumers are advised to discard the product.
The recall comes months after Boar’s head announced that Meat packing plant Virginia that was locked in a deadly listerbia battle will open this year.

Boar’s chief told FOX Business that he was working with the Department of Agriculture (USDA) to develop “a plan to reopen our jARRAT facility in the next few steps.”

The company said it has an “unwavering commitment to food safety and quality,” which the company says is reflected in its latest developments and practices and protocols.

The USDA told FOX Business that it needs the company to provide substantial evidence that it can produce safe food for the American people before lifting the suspension under strict conditions and continued scrutiny.
