Saudia is launching the first fully Internet-enabled flight with free high-speed WiFi for all passengers

Saudia Airlines has launched its first Internet-enabled flight, marking a milestone in the group’s digital and technological ambitions for Saudi Arabia.
The Test Flight, part of the ongoing pilot phase, aims to test the new Onboard WiFi system and gather feedback from passengers and users before full rollout on ships.
The initiative underscores Saudia’s commitment to improving the passenger experience through comprehensive digital communications.
Free High Speed Internet for All Passengers
Once officially launched, the service will be offered free of charge to all passengers in all travel categories.
The system currently delivers connection speeds of up to 300 megabits per second, with the possibility of exceeding 800 megabits per second in future upgrades.
Passengers will be able to browse the Internet, stream live content, participate in video calls, and access virtual meetings without interruption – while seamlessly switching between multiple devices during the flight.
Ministers of Wine Technology Mid-Air
The approved test flight, SV1044, showed a live demonstration attended by Saleh Al-Jasser, Minister of Transport and Tourism Manager Services and chairman of the Board of Directors of Saudi Arabian Airlines Corporation, and Eng. Ibrahim bin abdulrahman al-Omar, director general of Saudia Group.
During the flight, conducted at an altitude of 35,000, the Minister watched the saudi poigul player live, held a phone call with Abdullah Absswaha, the Minister of Communication and Information Technology, and provided the power for the high-speed Internet connection of the plane.
Minister Al-Jasser said that the communication in the flight symbolizes the convenience of technology and the important service, describing it as part of the strategy of reforming the system of Saudi Arabia. He called for the rapid implementation of the system that surpassed all of Saudia’s fleet.
Widespread Expansion continues
Eng. Al-Omar said that about 20 aircraft have already been equipped with the new service, and expansion plans for all Saudia fleets and all incoming aircraft and procedures to be controlled have been completed.
He added that Saudia remains committed to its goal of delivering a fully integrated digital travel experience, placing the airport at the forefront of aviation in the region.
Eng. Al-Omar said the service “shows Saudia’s pride in expanding the travel experience with new digital services,” and confirmed that it will soon be available free of charge for all passenger classes on board. “
