Samsung Galaxy XR vs Apple Vision Pro: Comparing specs and price

Samsung Moohan “saved by monhan” finally arrived earlier this week. The virtual reality headset threw a codename and is now officially known as Samsung Galaxy XR.
If you’re in the market for a VR headset, you’ve probably noticed that it’s starting to get crowded now. Meta Quech 3 has managed to dominate the space and is the strongest competitor to beat, thanks to some reasonable price tags. However, Apple Vision Pro has carved out its own mixed-reality niche, despite the well-documented arguments for AR / VR.
Now, there’s a new option: the Samsung Galaxy XR. How does it combine? Mashable of course he argued with Meta’s head. Now, let’s take a look at how the new VR Headset stacks up against the Apple Vision Pro in terms of specs, pricing, and feature set.

The Samsung Galaxy XR looks like a premium option when combined with the starting price of $499 for the Meta Quest 3. Add to $1,79.99, the Samsung Galaxy XR is not cheap.
However, compared to the Apple Vision Pro, the Samsung Galaxy XR Switch positions and looks like a budget option. The Apple Vision Pro starts at a whopping $3,499, making it nearly double the price of the Samsung Galaxy XR.
And, they’re not cheap either. The Meta Quech 3’s price point makes it more accessible to most consumers, although its specs pale in comparison to the Galaxy XR and Vision Pro. However, the Samsung Galaxy XR fits perfectly within the large price gap that exists between the meta head and the apple.
Samsung Galaxy XR vs. Apple Vision Pro: Expec
Both the VNEW M5 Vision Pro and the Samsung Galaxy XR are premium products, but Samsung wins in some key ways. There are actually higher displays, with 4,032 pixels per inch, compared to Apple’s 3,386 phpi. On top of that, the samsung headset is simple.
Of course, the Vision Pro has something else – that signature Apple Design and Vision interface.

To break this down a bit, display-wise the Apple Vision Pro has a better refresh rate but the Samsung Galaxy XR provides a sharper image with more pixels.
Functional programs will also be played here when comparing the two. The Samsung Galaxy XR is the first headset to use the Google XR operating system. If you’re an existing Android user, that familiarity would be a welcome addition to your VR headset. However, the XR for Android will not be different from the Samsung Galaxy XR. Some functions of the headset will also use the new Google app. On the Flip side, like other Apple products and their applications, Apple Vision Pro’s Visions will only be available on Apple’s head.
But, perhaps the biggest difference comes in what the devices are capable of. While the Samsung Galaxy XR’s Snapdragon XR2 + Gen 2 Chipset is powerful, it’s made for mobile. When it comes to the Apple Vision Pro, regardless of whether you have the M2 Version or the more powerful MM5, you’re still using a headset with a chipset designed for Apple’s Mac computers. The M2 or M5 will likely provide more processing power to the Apple Vision Pro than the XR2 + Gen 2 Gen 2.

Both the Apple Vision Pro and the Samsung Galaxy XR use a built-in head tracking system that tracks the user’s eyes and hands. This allows the user to control the device without the need for a controller, which is often required in other headsets such as meta want 3.
However, the Samsung Galaxy XR also has a dual control option, which the Apple Vision Pro lacks. This may be interesting for gamers who are used to using controllers.
Samsung Galaxy XR vs. Apple Vision Pro: Battery
Either apple or samsung managed to find something new and revolutionary with what to do with the VR battery pack.
Both offer a separate battery to the head itself. This is possible because of how it would be desirable to wear the company’s headset for important periods of time with a battery that adds more weight. Therefore, both Samsung Galaxy XR and Apple Vision Pro require users to get additional equipment around.
Battery life on both devices is also similar. Samsung claims that the Galaxy XR headset can be used for up to 2 hours of normal use. As an additional 30 charges can be added to the battery life if the device is only used for video playback. Apple Vision Pro with M2 Chip also has a battery that can support up to 2 hours of normal use and 2.5 hours of video playback.
However, there is a slight difference with the Apple Vision Pro with the M5 Chip. The latest version of Vision Pro extends the battery life to support 2.5 hours of normal use up to 3 hours of video playback.
