Paramoust is about to spoil the best star trek show

As a lifelong Star Trek fan, that’s my hot take on that Deep space nine The best show in the entire popular sci-fi franchise. Part of what makes this show so resonant is that its finale left Captain Benjamin Sisko’s final fate (the last time he was seen with the Wormmole aliens who saved him from certain death).
Now, however, the following Starfleet Academy The show is about to reveal his fate. I have a sneaking suspicion that these revelations will be the biggest remake of the show.
A Funny Tragedy
Worrying about it Starfleet Academy it started about two months ago when the first teaser trailer dropped. Look closely, and you can see a character staring at a screen with a man in Lilhouette. Above it, the text reads “Benjamin Sisko’s fate, urgent of the prophets.”

Recently, Starfleet Academy Co-Showrunner Noga Landau discussed the upcoming show with the agency’s salesman saying, “There are mysteries. We’re thinking about doing some really cool things that haven’t really been done that fans weren’t expecting to see happen.”
Advertising Some Disappointment
When that first teaser trailer came out, I tried to convince myself that the Sisko screen was just an Easter egg. Perhaps the simplest confirmation is that starfleet still cares about Sisko eighty years after he became one with the prophets.

However, the Showrunner’s comments about the “mysteries” and the open fans who have “Waited to see what happens” that Sisko returns to the real question of noncororpeal benefit. The blunt truth is that it doesn’t matter How They wrote this Deep space nine The character in the show, will piss off old school fans like me.
In Deep space nine Series FinAle, Sisko Stots Gul Dukat from harvesting the pah-wraiths by trapping him in a rock in the fiery caves of Bajor. Dukat dies, but Sisko is saved by the prophets, with whom he will spend an undefined time that lives in a decision that exists outside of space and time.

Later, he was seen in a vision by his wife, Kassidy Yates, who asked when her husband would return. “It’s hard to say,” Sisko said. “Maybe a year, maybe … yesterday. But I’ll be back.”

Personally, I’ve grown to love the portrayal of Sisko’s future. When it became clear that Sisko actor Avery Brooks would not return to Star Trek, I made my peace with the fact that fans would never read what happened to this famous (and sometimes) captain. However, now, it seems that the franchise will spell the final fate of the character without the participation of Brooks, and it is guaranteed to be a huge disaster for many reasons.
First, though Starfleet Academy The writers came up with a cool idea for Sisko (probably impossible; more on this soon), nothing they fight would be cooler than that. Deep space nine The fans came with them. We’ve all had decades to come up with our own head canon for the character’s return, and any official explanation would be a disappointment. I always found it fitting that the Star Trek series was overrated Deep space nine It ended the show dealing with the character’s religious journey by asking fans to take a leap of faith into the unknown rather than explain what happened to Sisko with the precision of Franchise Technobble.
There are always (bad) chances
Thinking about how it doesn’t matter Getting it it could be star trek canon, i’m afraid the subscribers to the sloff show Starfleet Academy will handle the return of Sisko. Will we find out that he came back to complete the temporary cold war, or maybe he just came from the past to join section 31? Both of these ideas are as bad as Tng Season 1 Episode, but I did not put it past the writers of today’s Trek to do something at least for this case with the coolest character of Star Trek.

I’m hoping to be proven wrong here: maybe Starfleet Academy You’ll really just laugh at Sisko’s fate with the unique monitor and move on. Unfortunately, today’s Trek writers are not known for being restrained, so it’s possible that Sisko’s future will somehow be woven into one of the nutri’s mystery time arcs. If that happens, old fans may have to answer their own mystery… The mystery of why they are still watching the franchise slowly burn in a dark and empty hole, manterpeate.
