Palantir CTO says AI-driven industrial speed is key to US defense

Palantir Chief Technology Officer Shyam Sankar explains how AI is empowering America’s workforce in ‘Mornings with Maria.’
The missing part of America’s defense system is the pace of AI-driven industrialization — not just weapons, according to one prominent technology official, but the ability to build them fast enough to matter.
“There is a historic opportunity for America to script the next decade of our success with AI,” Palantir Chief Technology Officer Shyam Sankar said on “Mornings with Maria” Monday. “The other thing is to prevent the factory base. It’s, how do we make our weapons, our platforms? Can we make them at a level that really deters our enemies?”
America’s ability to manufacture enemies is now central to preventing major world conflicts, Sankar said, just two days after the US launched strikes on Venezuela and captured its leader and suspected terrorist, Nicolás Maduro.

Since its founding, Palantir has held significant partnerships with the US government forces, including the Army, Air Force, Space Force and Navy, to use Palantir’s artificial intelligence tools and transform military operations.
“I think there’s a history of disaster from Silicon Valley and Wall Street, where there’s a completely different reality happening on the factory floor, in ICU nursing facilities, and our subsea-based industrial suppliers that lead to job growth,” Sankar said. “This is about empowering the American worker, giving the American worker the superpower that allows us to write our own reinvention as a nation. That’s what’s happening every day out there right now.”
“Most people think about us and the work we do in the team [foxhole]assisting and organizing activities and functions. But another deterrent is actually…a low factor. “

Sankar highlighted Palantir’s recent work with the Navy and shipbuilding as an example when asked by host Maria Bartiromo to give an example of how the company could “prevent World War III.”

Palantir CTO Shyam Sankar is correcting critics who say artificial intelligence will cause mass unemployment, crediting his company with allowing companies to hire ‘the alternative’ to ‘The Bottom Line.’
“You see the introduction of an integrated system, supply chain solutions that reduce dwell time,” he explained. “One of our suppliers was actually able to add a third shift. They were able to hire more American workers by using AI to speed up the way they plan production and manage their supply chain.”
“So I think the right focus on how we use AI to advance America’s prosperity and the competitiveness of our companies is how we’re going to re-industrialize.”
