Moet and Expo City Dubai presents the first district of the new UAE

The UAE will get its first green development district that will regenerate industrial development by combining economic growth with environmental sustainability and social responsibility.

The Ministry of Economy and Tourism (Moet) and Expo City Dubai come together to work, which collaborates with four strategic partners – Intesa Sanpaolo, Nestra, Majra and Palmade.

The Green Innovation District is expected to act as a powerful catalyst for sustainable industrial growth, attracting international businesses to the UAE and accelerating the nation’s economic diversification and climate action goals.

Abdullall Bin Touq Al Marri, minister of economy and tourism, commented: “The launch of the UAE’s first green district in UAE City at Expo City Dubai sets a major economic and climate milestone.

“This region will provide an environment for the incorporation of businesses and startups to drive the UAE Green economy and economic organization, creating a sustainable environment that supports long-term, comprehensive economic and economic and social development.

“Businesses operating within the District will also benefit from the Greenry Presual Property (IP) RoadMap launched by the Ministry of Economy and Tourism, which aims to promote the development of new projects in the new economy, environmental sustainability, and circular economy.

“Together with Expo City Dubai, we are justifying an ecosystem where economic prosperity and environmental responsibility come together and develop new solutions for industrial development, becoming a flagship model.”

Expo City, the perfect place

Expo City Dubai is seen as an ideal destination, with its built-in infrastructure, world-class free space and legacy of driving continuous, innovative progress. It’s location – midway between Abu Dhabi and Dubai and the critical Logistics connection linking Jebel Ali Port with Al Maktoum International Airport – is equally important.

Expo City’s Master Plan is certified platinum – the highest rating – in LEED (leadership in energy and environmental communities) cities and general communities, while LEED gold will continue to receive the lowest income for all buildings. The program has also received the pre-certificate of the public good – a standard that emphasizes health and wellness – and looks good for gold.

In addition, the extensive Expo City Testbed provides a real urban environment for testing and measuring environmental-first ideas that have a global impact, creating competitive advantages for businesses by strengthening operational resources and supporting innovation. Many companies focused on clean energy and devarbonaction – including Ebie, Nokia Energy, DS Energy, Carbon Asserm, Carbon Acturance, Carbon Standard and DNV – have already suspended operations in the city.

Reem Al Hashimy, minister of state for international cooperation of the Expo City Dubai Authority, added by the Expo City Debointials to achieve an economic link. Businesses around the world also contribute significantly to national prosperity and global climate action. “

Global collaboration

Intesa Sanpaolo – one of the largest banking groups in the Eurozone and the only Italian bank with a presence in the UAE – will be a strategic partner in building the new district in Greennotion. It is a pioneer in circular economy finance, with more than EUR14 billion already distributed globally.

NestlĂ©, the world’s largest food and beverage company, will support through the transfer of knowledge and technical expertise. Building on its global heritage in research, development and innovation, the company will provide a regional vehicle to promote sustainable industrial growth, develop circular economy solutions and drive the UAE’s green transition.

Majra, the UAE’s National Corporate Social Wezerm Offer Fund, will directly help environmental projects and new businesses set up in the region through its programs. Palmade, a Dubai-based manufacturer that converts locally discarded Palm leaves into highly biodegradable products, is the fourth partner.

Aiming to produce a significant reduction in carbon emissions and pollution, the new low-rise district will promote businesses involved in the circular economy, urban gardening or offering sustainable products and services. It will offer flexible office, Retail and F & B Space as well as multi-unit industrial and farm land.
