Larry Summers steps down from OpenAI board after Epsterin Ties backfire

Former Treasury Secretary and Harvard President Larry Summing has resigned from the OpenAI board amid the fallout from his involvement with Jeffery Sekwena and Finance.
“I am deeply ashamed of my actions and realize the pain they have caused. I take full responsibility for my misguided decision to continue Mr. Epstein’s commitment.
Opena’s board responded to the announcement, saying, “Larry has decided to resign from the board of directors, and we respect his decision. We value his many contributions and the vision he brings to the Board.”

Summer’s decision to ‘step away from many public roles comes after a seven-year stint’ with Epsterin.
In a statement released Monday to the Harvard Crimson, Summers said her decision to step away from public roles was part of an effort to “rebuild trust and repair relationships with the people around me.”

The documents show Summors and Epsterin matched as recently as July 5, 2019, the day before the embezzler was arrested on sex-trafficking charges. In the text, Summer briefly posted to Epsterin about his pursuit of a relationship with a woman he described as a Mentee.
Among the messages released was in November 2018, where Epsterin described as Summer ‘”a man with wings,” as he continues to advise Summer in the relationship for months.

On Tuesday, the Harvard Crimson reported that the Ivy League University had opened a summer relationship with Epsterin.
“The university is conducting a review of information about individuals at Harvard included in documents recently released by Jeffrey Epstern for analysis,” Harvard spokesman Jonathan L. Swain wrote in a statement to students.
Harvard has had its lawyers make increasing commitments to the Ivy League University in 2020. The new investigation, according to the student newspaper, will also include experts in Harvard administration.
