JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon gave an optimistic view of artificial intelligence (AI), predicting the technology will not “significantly reduce” jobs in the next year – as long as it is managed well.

Before answering the question directly, Dimon prefaced his response by noting that jobs and wages have weakened even before the rise of widespread AI adoption, and that technology is not to blame for that trend.

“Look, I don’t think AI is going to dramatically reduce jobs in the next year. And for the most part, like a tractor does, like fertilizer, vaccines are made from fertilizer.
“Now, of course, it needs to be properly managed,” he added. “There are downsides to ai, just like there are planes, herbs, cars. All things use Guardrails.” It means that people don’t have other jobs. “

The CEO continued, offering his advice for Americans who may be concerned about AI affecting their jobs.

“My advice to people would be, you know, you know, learn to think, learn your skills, learn how good you can be in the community, maybe, you know, you can bring all those people together quickly,” he said.
According to Dimon, if the government and big companies can’t initially do a lot of AI discovery work, it’s up to the government to find a plan to get the technology in the stage “in a way that doesn’t hurt a lot of people.”

The CEO also suggested that while some jobs may be lost to AI, technology can be used to “move people,” transport people, “and provide financial assistance or even take money before retirement.
“The next job can be a better job, but he has to learn to do this job,” he added, stressing that people with special skills will always be important.
Jamie Dimon predicted that skills like architecture will be essential to building the infrastructure needed for AI.
“It will create more jobs in the short run overall,” he added.
