IOS 26 Battery Drain: Which users say that the update is in the background

It is possible that apple may have caused the problem with the latest version of iOS.
Since iOS 26 was launched in September, there have been reports around the Internet of the new update significantly reducing battery life, even on newer iPhones. For example, one user on the Apple support message board posted a thread earlier this month saying that its new iPhone 15 product was affected, the only explanation being IOS 26.
“Today, I was busy all day and I didn’t use my phone from 8 am to 40%, but the apps opened without doing anything after 30 seconds, and the automatic brightness was enabled,” the user wrote. “So, it’s not the phone’s fault because it’s brand new with 100% original battery, and it’s not the settings because it didn’t have iOS mode.”
iOS 26 is the cause and solution to your iPhone battery problems
There are also long red streaks about it. For example, in one thread, users of iPhones as old as the iPhone 13 and as new as the iPhone 16 have revealed that they experience less battery life compared to what they had before the update. Responsible user_flilm_778, who has an iPhone 13 Pro Max, summed it up nicely.
Bright light speed
“I replaced the battery last year with apple and it was different with iOS 18.6 “It seems that it consumes the battery when it appears with liquid Glass of advanced tabs or panels. Really disappointed with this review. Hopefully it will get you 1/3 of the new time.

Naturally, you don’t have to go to X to find people crazy about this, either. User @digitalIx complained that the iPhone 16 Pro is now the “phone of the day” thanks to the iOS 26 update.
Of course, this has never happened without any kind of response from apple. The company has a support page with information about Battery Life Downgrades due to software updates. According to Apple, it might just be temporary and it might be due to its own fault as the company makes other updates for iOS 26.
“Immediately after completing an update, especially a major release, you may notice a temporary impact on battery life and hot performance. This is normal, as your device needs time to search files, download new applications, and update applications.
The new features are exciting and help you get more out of your Apple product, although some may require additional features from the device. Depending on individual usage, some users may notice a slight impact on performance and/or battery life. Apple works regularly to implement these features in software updates to ensure better battery life and user experience. “
Users in the threads of the Apple Support Forum and RedDit suggested some existing fixes, and apparently it was written about the support of “adaptive power” opportunities to update other people, since Power-Pricing Phone applications help to run well in iOS 26 then. There are other options you can take, such as turning off boost on high-end iPhones or enabling low-power mode.
Fingers crossed anyone experiencing this is able to fix it without sending their phone back to Apple for a battery replacement.
