I tried my best to completely abuse the pilot of ‘Star Trek: Voyager’

When we first heard about it Star Trek Voyager: beyond the unknownwe were arrested over its execution: He takes the enemies of witchcraft Voyager After being 70,000 light years into the Delta Quadrant and given decisions to keep the ship in one piece. Managing Resources, Interrupting or Engaging in Conflict, Monitoring the Morale of Your Crew, Moving Teams Where All Options Are – Dying, Shall Die Voyager at home or will you marry another way?

So when developer gamexcite released a new demo of the game as part of this week’s Steam Fest, I figured I had to give it my all, and give it a try. But while there is a ton of promise in Beyond the unknownits opening times are small a lot Directed to let the game shine.

Beyond the unknownThe SO demo takes you through an extensive tutorial section of the game, based on the stages of Voyagerpilot, “caretaker.” There are some broken toys in that story to teach you about Beyond the unknownMechanics – mostly resource management, scanning planets for new resources, and managing various existing systems Voyager itself, from the power of the power to work with good behavior, to research new technologies and designs, to, in the most interesting Twist from the show itself, in fact remove them slowly but certainly remove them little by little just when you see them and you and your equipment see fit.

But for the most part, you follow the events of “DETAKER,” and that in large and large ways they are separated from the narrative decisions made for a single observation with a more interesting game. The general flow of this long chunk of the game is as is He flows Fan already knows: You get the delta quadrant, there is a mysterious list full of weird people playing banjos, you meet the right one, and then you continue to be selected! or using it to bring you home to the Alpha Quadrant.

For my first playthrough of the demo, I chose to try and keep it as faithful to the events of the first episode as possible. The rest of the time, I was assigned to people who continue that same work in the series – something that you have been cleverly encouraged to do, it has been specific texts to get help done, it is more than a fashion tutorial for voiceover chat, but Beyond the unknown It’s definitely a game about managing spreadsheets rather than almost any pretty high-quality piece). When you are presented with decisions to make, such as whether I try to rescue Chakotay or Torres from Taretaker Array Lab Storage, or whether I finally destroy the array or use it to go home, I make those decisions.

Since the demo ends after that option, you can’t really continue to see the consequences of your actions up to that point yet, anyway Beyond the unknown he will then balance presenting another classic Voyager Stories permeate throughout the game as you make more decisions. But overall, unfairly for the tutorial section of the game, this feels less about optional and more about manual platforms. Your impact on each mission choice, whether you succeeded or failed, didn’t feel like it would overly change the narrative yet. The one who fights for the options of choosing how to try to save in the array simply means that you get chakotay and tuvok as a show), or you get B’ELLANA, as tuvok (and paris is dead).

While the resource management and survival game layer of Beyond the unknown he was bright early, even in this stage of the HOLD-BOLD-Y game (the combat space, however, leaves much to be reached for you so far, it depends a lot on deciding which enemy exyststem you want to shoot with skill), the opportunity for you to press VoyagerThe trip to your home is truly unheard of. So there I was left with “success” Voyager In the Delta Quadrant at the end of my first run, I looked back and made a decision: I was going to try to be -bi above all Captain Janeway is possible.

I deliberately took care of running the ship without empty ground power and the necessary equipment to stop the emergency crew, or have nothing to get the power to work on the warpl, or to reduce the power in a certain area). Whenever I can, I make an aggressive decision, seeing how far I can distance myself from the events of “care.”

In the outdoor season, I tried to send the least armed people and make them make decisions that would lead to almost timed violations of skill testing. Especially If it was a check that said it was a very risky method, and failure to fulfill it could lead to the team away from the team being injured or maybe even killed. So when the poor man, Harry, and Neeliki kicked in Ocampa, they were attacked by a desert storm, they looked at all the injured, until they were able to warm up, and how that would change the narrative going forward.

Instead, I was just hit with a quick “Akay Mission Obrowd” screen and asked to reload my Gcina. I’m very clean and I was a little embarrassed to fail at this, eeking enough to do it Voyager In one episode so I can continue playing the events of “Detaker.” In the end, the only thing that changed about this run was that I chose to use a mailing list Voyager Home, which leads to a big, dark chase where Chakotay abandons you for betraying his trust and leaves immediately if you want to arrest Tom Paris that he will go straight back to his penal colony (I did both, because again, -bi above all Captain Janeway Run). But in the full game it can end like the demo did: Ending your run prematurely and just asking you to load the game and try again.

Obviously, this is a small piece of the Beyond the unknown You’ll have to give it a go when it comes out on PC and Consoles at some point (release date no longer available). But I came away wishing I could get a better picture of how to choose one without the constraints of first-time teaching. Like, it’s hard to say how much the game will allow you to twist VoyagerThe future, even with the teasers we will eventually be able to keep things like letting Tuvix live or work technology to reduce the journey home.

There are still a lot of interesting programs under that narrative handle that you still have to offer Beyond the unknown Tons of survival opportunities and resource management game. But if you Star Trek A fan who wants to play God on the premise of a show that never lives up to its potential, the jury is still out as to when we get our hands on more of the game.
