General Hospital: Is Drew Really Dead? Willow Strikes Again!

General Hospital reveals that on the heels of Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) being found not guilty of shooting and attempting to kill her husband, Drew Cain Quartermaine (Cameron Mathison), she left again. Willow sticks a syringe in Drew’s neck after they toast their future.
So, do you really die this time? We’ll discuss whether or not Drew is dead meat after Willow makes another attempt at living her life—or what appears to be an attempt. When Drew goes into medical trouble, the question is, will Willow ever make it again?
I do know one thing: a lot of fans would be happy if Drew died from whatever Willow injected him with. I see comments on social media and here on videos all the time where people are upset that Drew didn’t die when he was shot. And they wished Willow had meant better.
Willow is acquitted of shooting Drew before the assassination attempt and is in a general hospital
This week there was an amazing change. Despite Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) deliberately trying to waste her closing argument to get Willow convicted, the judge acquitted her. Now DA Justine Turner (Nazneen Contractor) wants Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) to build a case against Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson). When the foreman read the verdict, Willow officially ran away.
He then went home with Drew and Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) bringing champagne to celebrate. But Drew kicked Nina out, something I bet she regretted when she collapsed on the living room floor. It’s crazy that Willow didn’t even wait a day before injecting her evil husband Drew in the neck. But maybe it’s crazy smart.
As she lay on the floor about to pass out, Willow shockingly told Drew, “Everything is going to be okay.” Willow then said, “You’ll see.” Those were the exact same words that Drew said in the photo of the two of them when he took his wedding ring out of the safe. He said just before Willow put two bullets in his back. So, it was a really good callback.
General Hospital Spoilers: Lucas Jones and Elizabeth Webber Respond to Medical Crisis at GH
Others General Hospital this week’s spoilers hint at that GH fans may get their wish and Drew may die. In Tuesday’s episode, we got Lucas Jones (Van Hansis) and Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) going into labor, with what sounds like a health issue GH. Obviously, Willow will call 911. He has to do it so he doesn’t look guilty in any of this.
Then, in Wednesday’s episode, Lucas delivers the tragic news that points to a medical problem that has not treated the victim well. I suspect that whatever Willow drugged Drew with killed him or made him unconscious. Because of that spoiler spoiler.
Of course, if Willow kills him or puts Drew in a long-term coma, you can obviously pretend to be devastated. But I bet Willow will only be devastated if Drew survives while he tries to kill her again.
General Hospital Registered Nurse: Willow Uses Her Medical Training for a Deadly Plan
Consider this: Willow is a nurse. He has knowledge of medications and access to a wide variety of drugs. Now, if I remember correctly, he doesn’t work at the hospital at the moment. Because of guilt. But just as he was sneaking into the Quartermaine Mansion to steal a gun, he could sneak in. General Hospital to steal the medicine he needed.
For a while, it looks like Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier) is the evil twin. But now we see a more calculated, treacherous, and dangerous side of Willow. This appears to be his second assassination attempt. If he intended to kill Drew, it’s possible that the drug Willow gave Drew caused him to have a heart attack.
I’ve done a little research on what kind of drug can kill someone and it’s hard to find in a toxicology test or an autopsy. He cannot use digitalis. Because Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) went around killing people for that. And they probably check that on anyone who dies General Hospital. If I were one of the chiefs of staff dealing with it, I would be very suspicious.
How Willow Can Use Potassium Chloride to Mimic a Heart Attack
However, Willow may have injected Drew Cain Quartermaine with a high dose of potassium chloride. It can cause rapid heart arrhythmia and may look like a sudden heart attack. And it’s not locked up like that in the hospital. Potassium chloride is stored in car wrecks. It’s a common drug that they put in low doses in IVs.
So, it’s not something that can be kept under lock and key like serious painkillers, opioids, or narcotics. It is usually given in low doses. But a large dose injected quickly into an IV or a jugular vein, as Willow did to Drew, can be absolutely fatal. After the injection, it takes about a minute for the victim to collapse and simulate a believable but massive heart attack. That’s exactly what we saw. Willow injected him and Drew was down and out within a minute.
I also looked at the possibility of delayed cardiac complications after a near-fatal incident like Drew’s—something where Willow could call 911 and make the whole cardiac thing seem audible. My research showed that in a shooting like his, scar tissue can make Drew more prone to heart problems.

GH Shocker: Could Drew’s Death Be Blamed for Past Trauma?
They could write what Willow drugged him with so that his heart would be strong from all of Drew’s blood loss from the shot or the surgery that saved his life. There may be residual problems. Trauma patients are at high risk for sudden cardiac events months after the fact.
Therefore, Willow can avoid suspicion and Drew’s death can be explained by scar tissue or material from the shooting itself. My research has also shown that there have been real cases of death from potassium chloride. There was a nurse who killed patients who used the same medicine to kill patients. He went for a while without being seen. Because they thought his victims were suffering from natural heart disease. Because potassium chloride levels in your body naturally increase after death. What Willow would know from her medical training.
There is another drug called succinylcholine. It’s hard to spell and very hard to say. Willow may have used it as it causes complete paralysis and respiratory arrest leading to cardiac arrest. If he used that drug on Drew, it could cause a sudden collapse, a heart attack, or it could lead to a seizure. That drug is also very difficult to find in an autopsy. Because it breaks down quickly in the body.
Will Michael Corinthos Face Manslaughter Charges If Drew Dies At General Hospital?
While fans would be happy if Willow actually killed Drew this time, I tend to suspect that she might survive a nuclear war like a cockroach. He might survive whatever Willow poisons him with but ends up passed out. We know Cameron Mathison may need some time off to film Christmas movies; he does it every year on America’s Biggest Family.
If Cameron Mathison needed time off, they could drug Willow to keep her off screen for a while. Then again, GH they might give the fans what they really want—a late Christmas present—and they might kill Drew. I think Willow might get away with it. Because it would be crazy for him to try to kill Drew again right after he was released. He may hope that it is so obvious that it goes unnoticed.
Even worse, if it looks like a heart attack that the doctors ruled out as a result of gunshot trauma, that could be serious. Because Michael is under investigation now from the PCPD. There have been cases where a person has been shot but is still alive. And the shooter is facing a charge of attempted murder. However, they later died from gunshot wounds and the charges were upgraded to murder.
So Willow might as well get away with it. But Michael is on the PCPD’s radar now. If he kills Drew, that would put Michael in a very difficult situation. I guess we’ll find out on Wednesday if Drew really kicks the bucket. If he does, we’ll have a lot of soap fans celebrating and a lot of people in Port Charles saying, “Wow, that’s too bad. Guess it’s karma.”
