Ford Motor Company ranks as America’s best-known company in a new study

Ford Motor Company was named the No. 1 company in the world. 1 most important in America, according to a new ranking by Time magazine and global data platform Statista.
This recognition, based on a nationwide survey of US citizens, places the Michigan-based car company at the top of the list of 250 American companies that have not only achieved commercial success, but have also played “an important role in shaping culture and society,” reports Time magazine.
“Just as my grandfather put the world on wheels to give people the freedom to move, our modern approach is based on that same spirit,” Ford Motor Company CEO Bill Ford said in a statement. “Innovation isn’t just about building batteries or technology for its own sake; it’s about making people’s lives better.”

Bill Ford emphasized the company’s focus on American workers, saying that Ford Motor Company is the largest hourly automobile employer in the US.
“We are using our position as the largest hourly vehicle employer in the US to ensure that the future of transportation is built by American workers for everyday American families,” he said.
Founded in 1903, the Ford Motor Company is credited with revolutionizing modern manufacturing with the assembly line — an innovation that made automobiles affordable for everyday Americans and reshaped the development of cities and suburbs across the country, according to Time magazine.

“Now, it is positioned to redefine the future of public transportation in the country, as it tests self-driving cars, and works to lower the prices of its electric vehicles,” writes Time magazine.
Other companies that completed the top ten include Apple, The Coca-Cola Company, Walmart, Amazon, McDonald’s, General Motors, Microsoft, Google, Nike and The Walt Disney Company.

Last month, the chief executive of Ford Motor Co. expressed praise for the Trump administration’s plan to make cars more affordable.

“What you need to know is that this is a victory for affordability and common sense. As the president said, we will be able to offer more money for our popular models, and we will be able to introduce new affordable American-made cars because of this change in the law,” said Ford CEO Jim Farley on the Fox & Friends program on Dec. 4.
