Dubai will reopen Jumeirah Beach 1 after major infrastructure and lifestyle upgrades

Dubai’s Jumeirah Beach 1 development will reopen to the public in early February after reaching a completion rate of more than 95 percent.
The project is part of Dubai Municipality’s wider efforts to improve public beach infrastructure and raise waterfront awareness across the emirate.
Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council reviewed progress on reconstruction during a site visit, emphasizing Dubai’s focus on people-centered, sustainable urban development.
Jumeirah Beach in Dubai
Covering 1,400 meters, the redevelopment represents a complete improvement of the design, services and infrastructure of the beach.
The project aims to improve the quality of life, support welfare and strengthen Dubai’s position as a leading global destination for maritime tourism.
Once reopened, Jumeirah Beach 1 will provide an integrated beach area with modern leisure and sports facilities, family-friendly amenities, and dedicated pedestrian, cycling and jogging paths designed to encourage an active lifestyle for all segments of the community.
Sheikh Hamdan emphasized that Dubai continues to set new benchmarks in urban development through sustainable planning and people-centered design.
He said: “Our vision is to develop a smart, future-ready city with advanced and sustainable infrastructure, world-class public spaces, and beaches that offer integrated services and quality experiences.
“Public beaches are an important part of Dubai’s urban fabric, and their development reflects our commitment to improving the quality of life for residents and visitors.”
The project supports the objectives of the Dubai Quality of Life Strategy 2033 and is in line with the Dubai Urban Master Plan 2040, which prioritizes coastal development, improved accessibility and efficient transportation networks.
Beaches are good for investment
Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalita, Director-General of Dubai Municipality said the project demonstrates Dubai Municipality’s commitment to developing public beaches in line with international standards, responding to population growth and leisure while delivering a unique visitor experience.
The development includes health facilities and improved services near the beach, including toilets, showers and changing rooms designed to ensure comfort, accessibility and privacy.
Dedicated areas for leisure, marine activities and seasonal events have also been included, alongside car and bus parking, including charging stations for electric cars.
State-of-the-art technology forms the core of the project, including wireless internet connectivity, electronic information displays, smart lockers, and AI-powered rescue and monitoring systems connected to Dubai Municipality’s central control rooms in collaboration with relevant authorities.
Investment opportunities
Climate action measures have been integrated into the project, with engineering works that raise the sea level and refill it with 250,000 cubic meters of clean sand, based on special technical and environmental studies to improve protection against rising sea levels.
In addition, this project presents more than 15 investment opportunities in all activities related to the sea, retail, food and services, supporting economic growth and strengthening Dubai’s maritime tourism system.
