Dubai secures $3.5BN UK supports Al Maktoum International expansion

Dubai has received great international approval for the future of its aircraft after the finance behind EK Tumla (Ukef) issued a $3.5BN expression of interest to finance the participation of $35BN (DWC World Central (DWC).

This announcement, made at the Dubai Airshow 2025, represents the first expression of interest in a mega project of its kind.

Presented during the ceremony in Dubai South Stand, the presentation of interest Sir Chris Bryant, Minister of Commerce, Chairman of Dubai Aviation City Corporation and Dubai Aviation City Corporation Corporation and CEO of Dubai Airlines.

The development signals increasing foreign involvement in one of the world’s largest aviation infrastructure projects.

Sir Chris Bryant said: “This expression of interest of up to S$ 3.5bn announced by the UK Export Mark sets another important number and strengthens the cooperation of the infrastructure of the infrastructure of the UK.

“Al Maktoum International Airport is set to redefine the future of global aviation, creating a range of opportunities for British carriers to demonstrate their cutting-edge capabilities.”

Khalifa Al Zaffin said: “The provision of aircraft at Al Maktoum International Airport is a systematic process that includes advanced engineering, continuous design and long-term planning.

“This initiative brings guaranteed international support to a project built on clear technical standards and a delivery framework.

“Our focus on building the infrastructure that will enable the next phase of Dubai’s aviation growth is reinforced by our leadership’s vision to make Dubai the nation’s capital.”

Suzanne Al Anani said: “This letter of interest shows the strong confidence of the international community in the delivery of Al Maktoum International Airport Advancement, as the developer of Maktoum International Airport.

“We welcome this opportunity for qualified UK suppliers to participate in our procurement organizations as we scale the next stages of operations.”

Dubai Airports Exponsion

Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports, said: “The Al Maktoum International Airland Airch Acponction Actionlents project represents an opportunity to find out how the airport should feel and how the journey of the future should feel and how this future journey should feel.

“This letter of interest adds another international impetus to a project that will change capacity, connect communities and bring a new level of experience to hundreds of millions of travelers.

“The long-term vision for Al Maktoum International Airport is clear and the support announced today strengthens our ability to realize it.”

The expansion of Al Maktoum International Airport is designed to serve Dubai’s Aviation needs for the next 50 years.

The first development is expected to come online in the early 2030s, accommodating up to 150m passengers annually.

Long-term plans will increase the total to 260m passengers. The program emphasizes innovation, sustainability and integrated communication systems, strengthening Dubai’s status as a global hub for people, commerce and future mobility.
