Dubai Launches Citywide Biometric Hotel Check-in

Dubai has launched a hotel check-in solution at the same time, marking the special expression we visited and digital innovation under the economic agenda of Dubai, D33.
It was announced by Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Mashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Prime Minister of Dubai, Deputy Minister of Defense of the UAE, and Chairman of the Executive Council and Holiday Homes.
Developed by the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DeP) and available through several private donors, biometric and digital capabilities are now ready for immediate integration.
It enables visitors to bypass personal check-in procedures, strengthening Dubai’s position as a leading Global destination for business and leisure.

The new solution allows visitors to complete all advance check-in arrangements from their mobile phones.
By uploading identification documents and biometric data
The secure data remains valid until the identity document expires, allowing future visits to begin with faster authentication, such as facial recognition.
Delivering on Dubai’s repeat visitors – where repeat visitors make up nearly a quarter of annual arrivals – the solution improves loyalty by making returns quick and seamless.

Biometric technology of the future in Dubai
Participating hotels and vacation homes can integrate the solution into existing services or web platforms.
In addition to hospitality, technology exists in a wide range of travel tourism cases, such as car rental services, which support Dubai’s vision of an integrated, beautiful travel experience.

Dubai’s hospitality sector remains the key to its global tourism success, with world-class services available across its 820 hotels and guesthouses.
The city welcomed 15.7M international visitors in the first ten months of 2025, up 5 percent year-on-year, and visitors spent 36.71m room nights in hotels across the emirate.
