Disney CEO says $1b ai deal with OpenAi Honors developers, won’t replace them

After Disney announced a $6 billion equity investment in Opelai, CEO BOB Iger assured creators in an interview Thursday that their jobs would not be threatened.

The rise of AI has been very felt by those in the entertainment industry who understand that they have been replaced, who now see that those pictures, images, and voice acting can be done in difficult times to develop AI programs. Sora is mainly a program where users where users, by simply typing, can create short videos with images and sound based on their requests.

Disney, which has been very deliberate about how its brand is perceived, recently cut a major deal with OpenAI, part of which will allow SORA users to create videos produced by AIs with Disney CopyRight.

“This is a great opportunity for the company to empower consumers to engage with our characters on what is perhaps the most authentic technology and news platform today,” Iger said Thursday on CNBC’s Squawk on the Street. “And not only is it an opportunity for consumers or users to do that, but it’s also important because in this agreement, Openai respects our creativity, in fact, to be part of those who really created AI and entertainment.”

More than 200 characters ranging from Star Wars Vader to Mickey Mouse and Princess Cinderella will be available on the platform with a license agreement that will last for three years. While the voices of the Voice-Anctors will not be included in this program, the Disney CEO is confident that other articles will not be threatened by the inclusion of others.

“We don’t include names and likenesses, and we don’t include lyrics, so this doesn’t seem like a risk to creators at all,” he said. “Actually, it’s the opposite. I think it glorifies and honors them in part because there’s a license fee associated with it.”

He then talked about Guardrails to ensure that investigative weapons are used responsibly.

“Another thing it does is enable us to appreciate that accaiai puts in order how it is used from the point of view of consumers,” he said in a safe way of how consumers can engage with our characters in a new way, “he said.
