Beyond the Gates Spoilers: Monday, January 12: BRCA Gene Results and Breaking the Bro Code
Monday, January 12th, we are in season 2 and episode 7 BTG. Chelsea Hamilton (RhonniRose Mantilla) calls her father, Bill Hamilton, with an urgent update. SOS. I think Chelsea is going to tell Bill that she got her test results—well, the first layer of test results—and Dani Dupree (Karla Mosley) has the BRCA gene.
Andre Richardson (Sean Freeman), on the other hand, has to draw a line in the sand. It sounds like Bill might try to run to play hero hubby, but that’s Andre’s job now, not Bill’s. Dr. Ted Richardson (Maurice Johnson) has already advised Andre to kick Bill back on track, and I expect to see that happen. I can’t wait.
Dr. Nicole Dupree Richardson (Daphnee Duplaix) is there as a good sister to comfort Dani. Of course, Nicole is very afraid of what this means for her little sister. Carlton and Ted have a talk that will be difficult but also long overdue.
Beyond the Gates Spoilers: Naomi Needs Mercy
I get Carlton’s side, thinking, “Oh, well, Nicole’s single now. She dumped Ted. I can date her.” But Carlton is Ted’s longtime partner and clearly breaks the bro code. I think Carlton and Nicole will do what they want to do and Ted be damned.
Naomi Hamilton Hawthorne (Arielle Prepetit) needs a favor from someone ASAP. Is it about his mother Anita Dupree (Tamara Tunie) or about Dani’s results, perhaps? Or maybe it’s about getting his test done quickly.
This week, Dana “Leslie” Thomas (Trisha Mann-Grant) awkwardly tells Joey that she knows everything about Vanessa McBride (Lauren Buglioli). She’s obviously making a good comment because Joey tells Leslie that she’s killed people for saying things like that. Joey grabs his jacket and walks away from him in Uptown.
I wonder if Leslie just lost her investor at the clinic because she was talking about Joey’s wife. Trisha Mann-Grant is such a beautiful actress. I know you’re an absolutely lovely lady, but Leslie is so ugly. He makes your skin crawl because he is such a great actor.
BTG Tuesday, January 13th: Grayson Perez Begins to Face Chemo Controversy
Tuesday, January 13, is season 2, episode 8 of Beyond the Gates. Jacob Hawthorne (Jibre Hordges) has a heart-to-heart with his father, Elon. I’m sure you get it from Anita and Dani’s stories and the fact that his wife could have this BRCA gene. I wonder if this might encourage Elon to take it easy on Isaiah because this is a reminder that life is short.
We don’t live forever with our family and loved ones. Ashley Morgan (Jen Jacob) went out on dates with Grayson Perez (Jordie Vilasuso). He’s a total hunk to work with at the hospital. He also has a mother who takes care of him. So cute, so sweet, and this is Grayson Perez Beyond the Gates debut.
Beyond the Gates Spoilers: Anita is furious with Vernon
I loved him over him The Young and the Restlessbut unfortunately, they killed off his character, Rey Rosales, a few years ago. Anita is home from her first chemo session, and of course, she finds out that Dani is positive for the BRCA gene.
Nicole doesn’t have it, but Anita especially finds out that Vernon Dupree (Clifton Davis) lied to her face when she asked if there were any test results and she said no. Now, I understand that she didn’t want Anita to be upset about that while she was getting the chemo drip, but she won’t have it and she’s going to sleep in Vernon.
Nicole is flabbergasted as the Dupris surround not only Anita but Dani, who is distraught and scared. This week, Bill asks Joey in his office, “Why are you here?” Joey says, “It’s complicated.” Bill says this might be more fun than he thought.
If you remember, you might be circling back about political things. Or Joey might be asking Bill for help dealing with the paperwork for the clinic he agreed to invest in with Leslie. I actually hope Joey finds a way to hurt her, but Joey might back out of the deal because Leslie doesn’t respect Vanessa.
Wednesday, January 14: Poisonous Hotel Room Accident
Wednesday, January 14, season 2, episode 9 of Beyond the Gateswe have Hayley Lawson (Marquita Goings) continuing her plot to kill Bill and get that big payday and house in the Caribbean.
When he pours her a cup of that hot poison tea, he tells Hayley that he doesn’t drink his poison either. But no, Bill is not in his scam. You are tired of drinking tasteless tea.
You’d think she’d put a little sugar in there or a little vanilla—something to cap off whatever she’s serving him. In addition, Vanessa has a friend who needs help. It could be Nicole, but it could be Dani.
Meanwhile, Pamela is there to support Dani, who is obviously afraid of her mother, herself and her girls. Also, Leslie found Marcel in his hotel room. Leslie freaks out when she grabs Marcel’s gun from her bag. Leslie is serious about it and says she has a lot to learn about him.
Beyond the Gates Spoilers: The Dupree Family is Terrified
And this week, Naomi tells Ashley at the hospital that she’s had blood work done more times than she can count. This time, it could really change everything. Chelsea is also ready to meet Naomi at the hospital to have her genetics tested at the same time. They hug each other in support, but clearly, they are also afraid for Anita, for Dani, and for themselves.
Thursday, January 15: Border Conflicts and the Dupree Family Tragedy
Thursday, January 15 Beyond the Gatesit’s season 2, episode 10. We find Dani arguing with Hayley, who has no sympathy for the Dupree family’s problem. He likes to tell Bill that the Duprees are not his family and that they are his only family.
But this hits close to home for Bill because his daughters may have the BRCA gene and be at a higher risk of cancer. Of course, Hayley will be jealous of any concern Bill shows Dani and any attention he gives his daughters.
Ted asks Eva Thomas (Ambyr Michelle) to do something that will put him in trouble with Katherine “Kat” Richardson (Colby Muhammad) again. I wonder if it has anything to do with the Duprees and this cancer thing or if it has to do with Catillion and Samantha since she is involved.
Jessica has a proposition for Tyrell. This is either big on Catillion’s case or it could be pushing him to something else. Martin Richardson (Brandon Claybon) and Bradley “Smitty” Smith (Mike Manning) don’t like this girl, Jessica, hugging their son Tyrell and holding him.
Beyond the Gates Spoilers: Ashley Has an Update
Ashley checks in on Naomi and Shanice (Ernestine Johnson). It could be about his hot day, or it could be about Naomi’s test. I bet Vernon will use his powers to return those tests to his grandchildren as soon as possible. Moreover, Anita is reaching her limit. This happened when he entered Dani’s house.
Andre shouts that Dani might not be dressed yet, trying to let him know that his mother is there, but Anita doesn’t stop. He keeps walking into the room as Vernon stands there with Andre. Anita is really upset and tells Andre that he brought Dani into this world. Do you think he didn’t see her naked from behind?
Friday, January 16: Love Matches and Effective Medical Options
On Friday, January 16, we will conclude the week Beyond the Gates in season 2, episode 11. Derek Baldwin (Ben Gavin) doesn’t like what he sees, so he might see Ashley go out with Grayson. And this week, Ashley asks Grayson if he knows how some people can tie the stem of a cherry with their tongue. Apparently, those are some of his party tricks.
He asks what he will do there Uptown, but Ashley says “he’s back in his house.” Are you going to go with Grayson, obviously they’re headed to bed? Derek gets really jealous. Chelsea shares some news with family. It could be about his test results or something about him and Madison.
Beyond the Gates Spoilers: Ted & Shanice Heating Up
Ted and Shanice are really hot. Looney Leslie won’t like that. Isaiah comforts Eve, and Naomi feels that Jacob is oppressing her. If Naomi has BRCA, I wonder if Jacob might push her to freeze her eggs.
She still hopes that Naomi will agree to have children one day. Some BRCA-positive women choose to have surgery to remove their ovaries, fallopian tubes, and breast tissue because it greatly reduces your cancer risk.
