Girona continued their upturn in form with a stunning win over Catalan rivals Espanyol on Friday. Vladyslav Vanat made the difference, with two penalties in the 45th and 90th minutes, scoring the third goal in a row for Michel Sanchez’s team, which is in tenth place. As for Los Pericos, they are still in 5th place.

Vedat Muriqi was the star of the match as Mallorca recorded a thrilling victory over a furious Athletic Club. The Kosovan striker opened the scoring five minutes from time, before Unai Gomez got an equalizer for the away side on the spot. Before the break, the hosts went back in front on penalties after a controversial penalty was awarded to Dani Vivian, but once again, Los Leones equalized shortly after Nico Williams curled home a superb goal.
Another controversial penalty was awarded to Mallorca, allowing Muriqi to complete his hat-trick. Athletic had three players sent off after this moment, namely Gorka Guruzeta, Inigo Lekue and Gomez.
Osasuna comes from behind twice to see Real Oviedo

Osasuna climbed to 12th place after a last-gasp win over relegation-threatened Real Oviedo at El Sadar. Federico Vinas gave the visitors the lead on 40 minutes, before Ante Budmir equalized before the break – and he would strike again on 75 minutes to equalize in the second half after Alberto Reina had made it 2-1 on the away side.
In the second minute of stoppage time, Victor Munoz scored for Osasuna, and although Alejandro Catena was sent off afterwards, Los Rojillos grabbed the three important points.
Real Betis keep their Champions League hopes alive at La Cartuja

Real Betis are still in the hunt for a top 4 spot, having seen off fellow rivals Villarreal. Aitor Ruibal struck before the hour mark to make it 1-0, and after Santi Comesana was sent off for a tackle on Giovani Lo Celso, Pablo Fornals doubled the lead for Los Verdiblancos.
Betis are now nine points behind the Champions League places, while Villarreal – whose midfielder Pape Gueye helped Senegal win the AFCON on Sunday – are in 3rd place, having played a game less than those around them.
Valencia struck late to secure precious Getafe

A match without quality was decided late at the Coliseum, where Valencia got an important victory. Filip Ugrinic played through Los Che captain Jose Gaya to score the only goal of the game, confirming Carlos Corberan’s side are out of the La Liga play-off spot.
