If you’re looking for reliable technology that does the trick without causing you heartache when checking your bank account, Anker is your best friend. From the Chargers are travel friendly at large projectorsAcker (and its family of Soundcore, Solix, and Eufy) is a dynamic brand that offers great products with thoughtful design at an affordable price.
Portable power stations have evolved this page It’s a hot product lately, and for good reason. Who doesn’t want to keep their phones charged when camping or WiFi router continue during a power outage? Anker has proven itself to be the leader in the mobile world more than ever in the world, and in tests, we found Solix C1000 striking the perfect balance between usability and affordability. Now, Anker has released the solix C1000 Gen 2, which comes with a few virtual hands. Which is better? We put the new model to the test to determine which version wins our charged hearts (again Gadgets).
Show-off features of anker solix C1000 Gen 2
The Gen 2 version of the Anger Solix C1000 feels like the original went to finishing school and came out with a new level of refinement. A little shineier, it has a nice LCD display, its two USB-C ports can now handle 140W, and it charges quickly. Its charging capabilities have earned the Guinness World Record for the fastest power station in the popular 1000Wh category, clocking in at 49 minutes.

This super fast rewarging comes with an asterisk that you will need to go to the app that is compatible with this period and activate Ultrafast Rewarging. Simply plug it into AC Wall power and it won’t be fast. If you choose to recharge with solar panels, you can connect up to 600W for a full recharge of about two hours.
The LCD display on the solix C1000 Gen 2 is bright, and easy to use, especially for beginners. If you want a portable power station to take camping, the solix C1000 Gen 2 weighs less than 25 pounds, and the two side handles make this model very portable. I found it easier to carry compared to the original Solix C1000.

It’s powerful enough to keep your fridge cool during a power outage and run an espresso machine in the morning. Its quiet operation of less than 20 decibels when the power is less than 200w means that it is good for a CPAP machine or to keep the air clean in the nursery at night.
Anker has also upped its game with the solix C1000 Gen 2 in terms of UninterPent Power Supply (UPS), which comes in at just 10 minutes. That’s useful if you’ll be powering up your desktop work and can’t afford to have it removed at checkout. The same can be said about medical devices.
The arrangement of ports on the Gen 2 is also good, and there’s enough screw around each AC outlet to connect to chunkier chargers like camera batteries or rechargeable batteries.

The C1000 Gen 2 comes with 1,024Wh of power, and cannot accept an expansion battery. That’s in contrast to the original C1000, which has 1,056WH and can be connected to another battery, which doubles the capacity to a total of 2,112Wh. Here are some considerations to study when deciding if the Gen 2 Solix C1000 is right for your needs:

All in all, Anker makes a big improvement with the solix C1000 Gen 2. It can refresh faster, it’s lighter and more affordable, and it has high uninterruptible power supplies (UPS). It also has 140W USB-C ports, while the original solix C1000 comes in at 100W.
On the west side, the new Gen 2 packs a bit less power compared to the original Solix C1000: 1,024wh compared to the original’s 1,056wh. Anker has also removed the light bar from the new model, and it is not compatible with an extension battery. Apparently, Ankker had to make this addition himself to reduce weight and size.
Total price is another big consideration. In List Price alone, the solix C1000 Gen 2 offers the best value because it costs $200 less. But if we’re being honest, we’ve never seen any of these models sell for full price. They’re probably always on some discount at Amazon.

Boiled down, unless you can’t stay out of the plane or are completely intent on adding an extension battery, the C1000 Gen 2 is probably your best bet. However, if one model is cheaper than another, we will choose whichever is cheaper. The difference is small enough that most people won’t notice much of a difference at all.
Buyer beware: The solix C1000 Gen 2 has two versions, and one is incorrect
Life is hard enough these days that we don’t need to overdo things. But Anker has done something confusing here, and you will have to take a moment to fully evaluate which anker solix C1000 Gen 2 you are buying because there are two versions.
There’s the standard Solix C1000 C1000 Gen 2, which is what we tested, and it comes with a full LCD screen and five AC ports. But then there is also anker solix c1000x Gen 2. Notice the extra “X” there. This “X” model, sold at other retailers including Good Buy, has a small LCD screen and only four AC ports. Guts and other figures of portable power stations are the same. Both the solix C1000 Gen 2 and the solix c1000x Gen 2 come with the same price, which leads us to discourage going with the C1000x Gen 2. You lose out on the C1000 Gen 2. It works to be a better value.
Is the anker solix C1000 Gen 2 worth buying?
The anker solix C1000 builds on the perfection of the original solix, but it’s light, the cases are fast, it comes with 140W USB-C ports, and it has easy-to-use indicators. Its MSRP is lower, and at full price, the Gen 2 offers better value. However, if you’re prioritizing a light bar, want the power of a flexible battery, or don’t mind spending 10 minutes for a full recharge, you’re probably better off with the original Solix C1000.
All that being said, both models are so close in performance and features that people should just buy whichever is cheaper. At the time of writing, the Anker Solix C1000 has seen better discounts on Amazon. That is especially true of time Prime Day Events where we see the price drop all the way to $375.
Ultimately, you can’t go wrong with the anker solix C1000 model. The product is simply a nail that provides strong portable power that is easy to use and inexpensive.
