Americans are flocking to RV centers as road travel is in full swing this season

Compass RV President and CEO Jon Ferrando, said low gas prices and inflation along with strong U.S. military production are fueling the RV Boom across the country as millions hit the road for the holidays.
In winter, the highway hits the jetway.
New data from the RV Industry Association shows that 28 million Americans plan to travel in an RV this winter, including 9 million for Thanksgiving and 7 million over Christmas. Nearly four in 10 recreational travelers (39%) say they expect to take an RV trip in the next year — a clear road trend gone.

Blue Compass RV Founder and CEO Jon Ferrando says the appeal is simple – Control and comfort.
“People are controlled. They don’t have to go to the airport. It’s a great way to travel,” he told Fox Business’ Maria Bartiromo on “Maria and Maria.”
Families can pack their gear, make their own beds and set their own schedules – a stress-free alternative to crowded terminals and unpredictable itineraries.
Today’s RV models deliver the technology and settings travelers expect. Ferrando highlights solar power, wi-fi, starlink compatibility, pet-friendly floor plans and push parking spaces. Prices range from entry-level trailers starting at around $12,999 to seven-car luxury vehicles – putting the ringving within the reach of both first-timers and first-timers.
Behind the scenes, Ferrando says new RV sales are up 17% this year, used sales have jumped more than 20% in recent months and service traffic remains strong. He adds that tax rates have only a small impact on his business, and lower prices continue to strengthen the RV Value Equation.

“We’ve had a little impact on tax rates, so the story of the last three years of inflation is behind us, and low gas prices make it more expensive to travel in your RV,” Ferrando said.
Ferrando insists that “almost 100%” of the RVs his company sells in the United States, most of them in northern Indiana. The state produces about 86% of all RVs in the US and Canada, and the total shipment is completed by 2024 at 333,733 units, worth $ 20.27 billion. It is a large domestic industry with deep roots in American manufacturing.
Ferrando also points out that the blue campus is expanding – new locations in Kentucky and Florida, getting a store in Georgia and opening an airstream dealer in Virginia – proof that the open lifestyle is gaining strength.
With America’s 250th birthday approaching on July 4, 2026, RV travel offers a uniquely American way to celebrate. Ferrando rebrands Riving as “a passion industry,” adding that his customers “buy our products to go out and enjoy the best that America has to offer.”
