The measures are part of ITC’s comprehensive plan to control traffic on roads that tend to experience high volumes.

The restrictions aim to reduce accidents, improve mobility, and increase the efficiency of Abu Dhabi’s Transport network, which supports key residential, commercial and industrial areas.

The ban on heavy vehicles along the E11 and E10 is aimed at reducing traffic pressure on two of Abu Dhabi’s busiest routes, especially during peak hours when private cars and shuttle buses see significant traffic.

The ITC said the new rules will improve the daily travel experience and support safe, reliable travel conditions.

As part of the implementation, ITC has selected Al Fayah – Seih Shuaib Road (E75) and Al Haffar Road as alternative roads for heavy vehicles.

Both roads are designed to safely accommodate truck traffic, ensuring the continuity of goods movement and commercial activity without affecting the flow of traffic within the city.

ITC also confirmed that the movement of trucks will be prohibited on Al Rawdah Road (E30) in the area of Musaffah – From the boulevards from Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Road (E11) Helt – peak hours in the evening.

An alternative route will be provided through the ICAD Bridge to reduce interactions with light vehicles and improve traffic flow in the area.

Abdulla Hamad Aleyani, Managing Director of Planning and Corporate Affairs at ITC, said this decision reflects the organization’s commitment to improving the efficiency of Abu Dhabi’s road network and achieving high levels of vehicle safety.

He noted that the measures are in line with Abu Dhabi Vision 2030, which aims to develop an integrated and sustainable system that supports the Emirate’s long-term economic goals.

Advanced traffic flow

Aleyani added, “The Joint Integration Center is continuously working on targeted programs designed to improve traffic flow and provide a safe travel environment on important routes with traffic safety needs and services.”

ITC asked all drivers of heavy vehicles and transport companies to fully comply with the new rules and signs on all affected routes, emphasizing the importance of cooperation to ensure the use of the road and the quality of life.
