Will (Alex Roe) and Cin (Andra Nechita) arrive, saying they also booked a rental for the same weekend.

At first, both spouses get along well. They lived in a large area, and in theory, everyone could keep to themselves, sharing common areas only when they saw fit. With a new settlement system in place, things quickly start to go wrong. As the two couples explore the mansion, they come across dozens of locked rooms, including a set of bonds that annoy Sage but disgust Diego, causing an immediate rift between the couple.

Whenever he’s alone, Cin approaches Diego with romantic intentions, and Will does the same to Sage. What Sage and Diego don’t know yet is that Will and Cin are using these secret conversations to manipulate themselves and destroy their relationship. Whenever they’re pressed about their intentions, Will and Cin always laugh and diffuse the situation enough to make their targets second-guess their instincts and stay indoors.

Well, That Grown Up Fast!

What does Bone Lake such a fun watch is its intentionally sweet dialogue that plays like you’re watching a soap opera. When Will asks Diego if he wants to play a game of chess, Diego responds with lines like “No, I’m tired of playing games.” When things escalate to violence, Will calls out to Cin with lines like “Baby, I didn’t get the chloroform.” It’s an extra layer of cheese that makes an inherently disturbing base more delicious than it has any right to be, and it works surprisingly well.

The real reason to stick with it Bone Lakehowever, it’s the third exposure, which turns the entire weekend vacation into a high-level nightmare. If you’ve ever even considered sharing an Airbnb with strangers, this movie will make you rethink that decision.
