Musk’s $681B is double Larry Page’s worth amid Tesla stock surge

Elon Musk has a fair price now doubles as the closest billionaire to the world’s richest people amid Tesla’s stock surge.

I Forbes Real-Time Billionaires List showed that as of Thursday afternoon, Musk’s net worth is estimated at $ 681 billion as the Tesla CEO and entrepreneur increases his lead as the richest person in the world.

That’s more than double the next closest billionaire on the list, Google founder Larry Page, whose fortune reached $249 billion on Thursday.

Rounding out the top five are Amazon founder Jeff Bezos worth $239 billion, Google founder Sergey Brin at $229.9 billion, and Oracle founder Larry Ellison at $229.6 billion.

Earlier this week, Tesla stock hit its first new record high close since Dec. 17, 2024, when its last record close was recorded.

The stock rose after Musk said on Monday that electric vehicle (EV) the manufacturer was testing robotaxis without safety monitors in the front passenger seat.

Tesla’s shares were also boosted by the announcement that California Department of Motor Vehicles will lift a 30-day sales freeze it imposed after regulators ruled Tesla’s marketing of its self-driving technology using the Autopilot and Full Self-Driving brand names was misleading, as the technology requires supervision and is not autonomous.

The California DMV delayed the suspension for 90 days to give Tesla a chance to correct the situation. A separate suspension of its manufacturing license for 30 days was permanently suspended.

DMV Director Steve Gordon told reporters on Tuesday that the regulator’s concerns are now focused on the word Autopilot, as Tesla is taking steps to address concerns at this time. Fully Self-Drive.

The company now includes the term “Supervised” in the description of FSD in passenger vehicles. It uses an unsupervised version of the software when moving vehicles from assembly lines to bring lots to some of its factories. It also uses FSD’s service robot in Austin, Texas, with human safety monitors in the front passenger seats and remote support.
