Hawaii surprises Tiktok with allegations that it is ‘addicted’ to the stage of directing children

The state of Hawaii filed a lawsuit against Blognence Inc., accusing Tiktok Parent Company of creating a dangerous addiction for young users and misleading the public about the harm it causes.
The 106-page complaint, filed in the first round of Hawaii, says that Tiktok’s business model is built on forced use, and users of programs that organize the platform to keep its more than 150 million users involved as long as possible.
Hawaii Attorney General Anne LOPEZ said that features such as “You” Feed, infinite scroll, push notifications and preferences are created to increase personal time and more income for Tiktok.
Features are also developed to influence the neurobiology of users, particularly dopamine production, in tactics similar to those used in the gambling industry, according to the complaint.

A large portion of Tiktok’s user base is under the age of 18, with internal records showing millions of users are under the age of 13, according to the complaint.
Tiktok has been sued twice by the US government for violating the Online Feed Disclosure Act (COPPA), but lawyers say it failed to warn children, parents or the public about the potential dangers and safety of the app.

The regime has returned and Tiktok continues to maintain age verification and child protection programs, deliberately exploiting children for economic gain.
“Tiktok has been known for a long time for the Mental Healthy Persion of its platform, especially for our children and adults. At the heart of this company, they care a lot about safety,” Lopez said in a statement.
Hawaii Gov. Josh Green added design tiktok’s Design creates an environment where “addiction and anxiety thrive.”

“As leaders, it is our duty to protect our youth from platforms that prioritize profit over their lives,” Green wrote in a statement. “This legislation is an important step in holding TikTok accountable for the harm it causes and ensuring that our children can navigate the digital world safely.”
Tiktok did not immediately respond to FOX Business’ request for comment.
The government’s action seeks to stop Tiktok from harmful and deceptive practices, requires reasonable protection of children and ensures that Tiktok discloses the best possible risks through its platform.
