Opelai CEO Sam Altman announced a “code red” effort within his company to improve the quality of chatgpt, the Wall Street Journal said, citing an internal memo.
In a statement, ALTIMMAN said Opelai has a lot of work to do in improving the day-to-day experience of its Chatbot, such as allowing it to answer a wider range of questions and improving its speed, reliability and personalization features.
The company’s reported memo from Altman comes as rivals have chipped away at OpenAi’s lead in the AI race, last month releasing a new version of its Gemini model that is outperforming industry benchmarks.
Focusing on the “red code” effort to improve chatgpt, accai will throw work back to other channels, such as your assistant called Pulse, advertising and health and shopping agents, the magazine said.

Altman also said that the company will have a daily call between those responsible for developing chatgpt, the newspaper added.
“The main focus now is to continue to make chatgpt possible, and expand its reach around the world – while making it feel intuitive and personal,” Nick Turley, head of ChatGpt, wrote on X Monday night.
Openayi is currently unprofitable and has to raise money to survive, compared to competitors like Google that can’t get paid for investing in their AI values with revenue, the magazine said.

The newspaper also points to Google when it says Gemini’s monthly users rose from 450 million in July to 650 million in October, following the release of the image generator. Opena is also facing pressure from anthropic, the San Francisco-based company best known for developing the Claude family of Chatbots, he added.
Opena reportedly has a user base of over 800 million weekly users.
In the memo, Altman notes that Opel plans to release a new concept model next week ahead of the latest Gemini model, the magazine said.

The company uses yellow, orange and red color codes to describe the levels of urgency needed to combat problems, people familiar with the matter told the newspaper.
