Airbus on Friday ordered immediate repairs to all of its thousands of family planes, affecting major carriers including American Airlines and Delta Air Lines.
The order affects nearly 6,000 Jets, making it one of the largest in the history of the European Aerospace Giadospace Giant. The move also comes amid the best travel weekend of the year in the US, according to Reuters.
“Analysis of a recent event involving A320 family aircraft revealed that intense solar radiation can damage data critical to the operation of flight controls,” Airbus said in a statement. “Airbus has revealed a large number of A320 family aircraft currently in service that is not affected.”
The recall was created by Oct. 30 Jetblue Flight traveling from Cancun to ENTERY TO ENTERY NEW REAL ESTATE OF TAMPA after a sudden fire injured passengers, according to the Officials.

The fix mainly involves bringing the planes back to the previous software version, and the update must be completed before the planes are allowed to fly, Reuters reported.
American Airlines said about 340 of its 480 A320 jets will need to be updated and expects most of the work to be completed “today or tomorrow.”
The process takes about two hours per flight, according to the airline.
“While we expect some delays as we complete this review, we are very focused on mitigation – particularly with customers returning home from holiday travel,” American said in a statement.

Delta Air Lines said less than 50 A321Neo aircraft in its fleet are affected and expects all updates to be completed by Saturday morning.
“As safety comes before everything else, Delta will fully comply with the order and expects any potential operational impact to be limited,” Delta said in a statement.
