24 years after the sudden cancellation of The Stargate Universethe beloved sci-fi franchise is coming back thanks to Amazon. Mega-Corp acquired the rights to the entire franchise when it bought MGM in 2022, and since then, there have been highlights of new series coming to Amazon Prime Video. Today, it was confirmed, and the star was confirmed as the series that will add to the franchise, and the new showrunner, Martin Gero, is not a restart. ” Long-time fans have been waiting for decades for the hit franchise, and some news today proves that the wait was worth it.
The original Stargate Creative team is back

First, the fact that Martin Gero is the new Showrunner. Gero got his start in Hollywood on Stargate Atlantis and will continue to write episodes for every series in the franchise, directing the Atlantis episode “Brain Storm,” and even serving as a creative consultant for half of Stargate SG-1. If anyone could bring back the franchise, it would have to be someone who helped bring it to life in the first place, which is why it’s so impressive that Goro isn’t the only one returning to bring back Stargate Command.
Before SG-1, Crawl was a blockbuster action sci-fi movie directed by Roland Emmerich, and now, 31 years after he first opened the gate, Emmerich is back with an Amazon series. Joining him is his long-time correspondent Dean Devlin, who not only worked on the original movie but continued the art on the Fun Generation, Cable Cable Prece, including He jumped and They are gay. If one were to find a unique star tone, it would be those three.
However, you are not alone. Brad Wright, the creator of stargate television, is on board as a consultant, and during the event of Amazon, he appreciated that the new goal of information will not rely, then, everyone will want to go back and watch the franchise from the beginning.
The possibilities are endless

Beyond the creative team, little is known about Amazon’s new star-studded series. Will it provide the closure of the destiny staff from The Stargate Universe? Are we going back to Atlantis and the Wraths? Will we get to see the officers of the star command, and after all these years, will we meet General Samantha Carter? Most importantly, will the rest of the world look like Vancouver?
Given how each of the shows ended, there’s plenty of new series to grow, even if it’s going to be an entry point for newcomers. The stories of the Goa’uld and the Ori ended in direct-to-DVD movies, Continuation and The Ark of Truthbut who will say another program Lord SHOULD NOT appear in the following years? The Stargate Universe Much has been revealed about the age, and who knows what technology is out there, waiting to fall into the wrong hands.
Stargate fans have a lot to think about since the new series is still early, and there is no release date. There is no cast, no setting, and no characters, but none of that matters, because finally, 14 years after the franchise went full blast, fans can celebrate. Stargate is back.
