Dubai launches $680,000 ‘Create Apps competition’ to attract top app talent

Dubai has launched an AED2.5M ($680,000) competition to find the best app developers in the city.
The third edition of the “Dala Championship”, a major step under the classic applications in the Dubai program looks to increase the global technological talent and strengthen its position as a global Hub of the digital economy.
This initiative was presented as Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Mashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Prime Minister and Commissioner of the Development Council of Shedi Mohamh Mohamh Mohamh Mohamh Mohamh Mohamh Mohamh,, said the Vice-Principal and Prime Minister of the UAE and the ruler of Dubai.
Dubai Create Apps Intelligence
The Cranse Apps Championship will feature four main categories:
- The best youth app
- The most impactful app
- A very new app
- Loevity App of the year (new)
This competition offers a total of over AED2.5M ($680,000) to support app development and launch.
The winners of the three categories will receive more than AED550,000 ($150,000), while the year-round “winner” who won through public voting – will receive AED1M ($272,000).
New technology
Sheikh Hamdan said the Emirate’s economic and artistic journey continues to unfold with its focus on empowering talent, developing pioneering solutions and continuous improvement.
The first two editions of the Creansis Apps Championship attracted more than 5,800 applications and supported the development and launch of 55 Smart applications, contributing significantly to Dubai’s innovation ecosystem.

“Dubai is setting inspiring models in the world by creating an enabling environment that attracts and provides talent that empowers, inspires and up-and-comers driven by knowledge, creativity and innovation.
“With a supportive and stimulating environment that fosters ideas, Dubai is strengthening its position as a global hub for business, investment, and innovation.”
Talent retention
He also emphasized that Dubai continues to raise its position as a Global Hub For Tech Talent, supported by world-class infrastructure and social structures that strengthen the use of Smart applications.
Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for artificial intelligence, digital economy, and chairman of the Cuban Chamber of digital economy, has strengthened the role of Dubai in attracting the Dubaital Technology Development company.
Al Olama said: “Through this challenge, we continue to attract Dubai’s exceptional talent driven by nature, which serves as an advanced model in achieving rapid changes in the field of digital applications, one of the fastest growing and most influential sectors in the global economy.”
New app section
This year’s program includes the “Nde Lide Live App of the Year”, recognizing apps that promote health and sustainability in areas such as fitness, health and lifestyle.
The division aligns with national priorities to improve quality of life and build a fairer society for the future.
The third edition also introduces the Alumni Accelerator program for potential teams entering the challenge.
The program will support the completion and launch of 50 fully developed applications on the market, providing access to a dedicated business accelerator.
In addition, the facilitators will create a dedicated Hub for participants, offering tailored training, coaching and expert guidance to accelerate the growth and scaling of their projects.
