Dubai launches AI in Drones Sky to monitor green spaces in the Emirate

Dubai Municipality has launched the “Smart Municipality Amehlo” program, an advanced monitoring system that uses unmanned aerial vehicles (IAV) equipped with artificial intelligence (AI) to improve environmental and urban sustainability across the Emirate and Urban Sustatability of the environment and Urban
The system enables real-time monitoring of 52 million square meters of green spaces, assessing vegetation health, detecting irrigation and pest issues, and predicting potential problems before they occur.
By integrating AI-enabled data analysis, the system supports predictive maintenance, ensuring the durability and resilience of Dubai’s long-standing green infrastructure.
AI and Drone technology
In support of the program, Dubai Municipality signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with ndan al Samma for the production of remote controlled aircraft.
The agreement promotes cooperation in developing and deploying new drone technology and advanced AI solutions for municipalities, fields, and surveys, to emphasize Dubai’s environmental and urban sustainability goals.
Marwan Ahmed Bin Ghalita, Director-General of Dubai Municipality, and Rashid Hamdan Bin Khadim Al Nuaimi, Chairman of Elenan Al Samma, signed the MOU during next week in the cities of the future museum.
The upcoming Urban Week brings together local experts and decision makers to explore the future of urban planning and strengthen cities’ readiness for the challenges they demand.
Preservation of Dubai’s environmental identity
Marwan Ahmed Bin Ghalita said: “This collaboration with Eanan Al Samma represents a step forward in positioning Dubai Municipality as an active leader in supporting municipal operations and improving field services across the city.

Under the MOU, both parties will exchange technical expertise, develop new solutions, and break down effective models that support Dubai Municipality’s goals for easy transformation, effective municipal service delivery and urban recovery.
The partnership strengthens sustainability, resource management, and the continued development of Dubai’s appeal and efforts.
