While the pipeline met with some criticism from the Mayor of New York City – Zamarin confirmed that the natural infrastructure is necessary for “reliable, affordable and clean” energy in the United States.

“Natural gas has actually been our most powerful tool for decarbonization,” Zamarin said. “Over the past 10 years, we’ve driven long-term emissions. More than 60 percent of the emissions reductions in the United States would have taken away from the national electricity grid in New York City, which is one of the highest-rated states that produces the cheapest natural gas in the world.”
As many voters expressed their concern about the rising cost of natural gas services, Williams Companies CEO pointed to a recent project that is expected to reduce consumer costs.

“There was a report released by S & P last year on our Constitution project, which is a project to deliver low-cost natural gas, it can reduce costs for consumers in New England by $11.5 billion, so there is a direct impact,” he replied.

Zamarin stressed the importance of encouraging “strength accessibility and reliability. ”
“We must continue to educate consumers, the electorate about the importance of bringing natural gas to face and make sure that we can afford the energy of our consumers,” he said. “I think, finally, that voice is being raised, and we’re seeing a more rational approach to energy infrastructure.”
