Three killed, 12 injured in Russian drone strike over Ukraine

A Russian drone flew into a patch of land in eastern Ukraine early Saturday morning while many were sleeping, killing three and injuring 12, Ukrainian officials said.

The attack on Dnipro, Ukraine’s largest city, was part of a Russian Missile and Drone Barrage targeting the entire country Energy Infrastructure.

In eastern Ukraine, the fight against the city of Pokrovsk has reached a key stage, with both Kyiv and Moscow offering to convince US President Donald Trump that they can win on the battlefield.

Russia shot down a total of 458 drones and 45 missiles, including 32 ballistic missiles. Ukrainian forces shot down and destroyed 406 drones and nine missiles, the air force said, adding that 25 locations were hit.

Authorities cut off power in several regions as a result of the attack, Ukraine’s Energy Minister Svitlana Grynchuk said in a Facebook post.

A fire broke out and several apartments were destroyed in a nine-story building in Dnipro, emergency services said. Rescuers recovered the bodies of three people. Two children were among the injured.

Almost four years after all the attacks, Russia has been scrutinizing Ukraine with close-range Drone and Missile, many civilians were killed and injured. The Kremlin says the only stones are linked to the Kyiv war effort. The Russian Ministry of Defense asserted on Saturday that a crazy night hit the military and energy supply of the Ukrainian forces.

Moscow and Kyiv have traded almost daily attacks on each other’s energy channels like e-mails – political efforts led by a nearly four-year war that have no effect on the battlefield.

Ukraine’s Long Range Grenade Strikes on Russian Refineries are aimed at reducing Moscow’s oil export revenue needed to finance the war. Russia wants to damage Ukraine’s energy grid and distribute citizens’ access to heat, light and water, according to officials in Kyiv.

Russian forces, meanwhile, returned a “Massive” strike at night in the energy centers of the southern Volgograd region, said Gov. Andrei Bocharov, two days after hitting Ukraine’s oil refinery there. Bocharov added that the strike knocked out power in some parts of the North-West, but did not cause any accidents. There was no immediate comment from Kyiv.

Russia said Saturday that its forces shot down 82 Ukrainian drones overnight, including eight over the Volgograd region. Two people were injured in the neighboring region of Saratov after a Ukrainian strike in an apartment block, according to the Romanian Gov.

Pokrovsk sits on the line of the Eastern Front, which is part of the so-called “Fortress Fortress” of Donetsk, a line of heavily fortified cities that are critical to the defense of the Ukrainian region. It could also be a key point in influencing the situation in Washington and changing the course of peace talks, analysts say.

Russian President Vladimir Putin says his troops are in the mood for victory. As a prerequisite for peace, he is asking Ukraine to move up the donbas, made up of Donetsk and neighboring Luhansk, one of his main battles.
