During an interview with the “unkind” podcast, Emmer said that Shumer would not agree to a gag order because he was “afraid” of losing his power in the Democratic Party.

The current shutdown, which entered its 37th day on Thursday, is the longest in US history.
Schumer sounded off on continuing the shutdown this week after Democrats had a successful election night Tuesday, winning races across the country, including closely watched gubernatorial races in New Jersey and Virginia. Social Democrat ZOHRAN Mamdani also enjoyed a boost with her decisive victory in the New York City Mayoli race.
“Donald Trump is clearly feeling the pressure to end this shutdown. Well, I have good news for the President. Meet the Government,” Shubheri said on Thursday.

Democrats have demanded that any spending activity paired with the extension of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) is set to expire at the end of 2025.
The Republican leadership has lived up to those demands. The Republican State Committee’s (RSC) Statement Committee’s latest statement says, “Congress should reject any extension of the Spillover Covid-Era funding that creates deception and drives up spending.”

Following the victory of the Democratic Party Level elections this week, some Democrats in the Senate supported the off-ramp from burning and looked at the offer from the Republicans.
Holmes explained the stalemate, saying, “So, we’ve spent a month arguing about nothing. And now they’ve got it early on election day – when they refused.'”
“Yes, I think they’re full of you—what,” replied Emmer.

Republican critics said Schumer did not want to make a deal because he feared a strong development in his party as a representative.
Emmer suggested on the podcast that moving forward was Schamer’s main reason for keeping the shutdown going.
