US-based gecko robotics signs three major deals with adnoc

Pittsburgh based Gecko Robotics, which recently reached Unicorn status after receiving funding from DALY this year called Adnoc through Adnoc and Intelligence agreements

The agreements cover the deployment of adnoc’s state-of-the-art technology, integrated training programs through the Adnoc Technical Academy (ATA), and the rollout of robots and analytics for AIDNOTS and Adnoc

AIQ, adnoc’s strategic joint venture, has signed the first of these agreements – a multi-year partnership to implement the Cantilever Operating system across Adnoc

GECKO Robots also presented the CEO Fatema Al Nuaimi with the First Robot of the UAE to be produced at the ENTACT event held in Abu Dhabi.

Cantilever is gecko’s edge robotics and powerful software platform that covers every area of the legacy workflow, from decision-making performance testing, through integrating robotics test data with applications, process data, and analytics. The result is a single interface where developers can visualize asset health, query performance in natural AI language, and act with predictive insights in real-time.

The APPTEPTION AI platform will generate over US$300 million in optimization and test cost savings over the next five years.

Under a separate agreement, adnoc and gecko robots will explore the advanced deployment of advanced robots and powerful AI analysis, the possible production of robotic systems in the UAE and the delivery of ADNON’s solutions.

The third agreement is with the ATA for cooperation in training programs.

Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, managing director of the executive group, commented

“These three agreements mark another milestone in our journey to become the world’s most energy-enabled company as we accelerate the deployment of robotics, empower medicine and strengthen the UAE’s position as a global hub for energy innovation.”

Jake Loosararian, CEO of GECKO Robotics, praised the opinion of Dr. Al Jaber and: “There is a race to lead the moment of AI and energy. And the energy companies that win will not use technology, they will be technology companies.

“There is only one way to win this race and that is to get body data using robotics and unlock human and machine performance from AI fuel.”

Adnoc gas was the first UAE client for gecko robotics in 2023. Gecko also tests robotics manufactured in the UAE based on adnoc group using its robots and robotics.

Fatema Al Nuaimi, CEO of Adnoc Gas, said: “Efficiency improvement, cost reduction, and safety are what we strive for in every key step in our AI and technology journey.

“Incorporating Robotics and AI into our operations marks a milestone in that journey. This partnership shows how we can leverage cutting-edge technologies to strengthen asset reliability, improve safety, and set new benchmarks for our network’s efficiency.”

Under the three-year agreement, gecko will lead AI’s integration of AI and analytics with its cantilever platform, while aiq will take the results of this program and adhere to the wider adnoc ecosystem. The first year will focus on integrated deployment and data modeling, followed by the accessibility of the right platform and the ongoing implementation of AI in the next two years.
