Days of our lives saw the dimera family with fear recently when it seems that Tony Dimghlis (Thaao Penghlis) went missing during a boat trip in Greece. This was not thrown into the script for no reason.
In this piece we will go through what happened, why the meaning “missed” feels small, and what the disappearance can mean for the story of the dimeras’ big celebration.
Days of our lives: a walking horror – what really happened when Tony disappeared?
EJ Dimera (Dan Feuerriegel) broke down when Tony’s wife, Anna Dimera (Leann Hunler), called and said Tony had been left behind on the ship. Anna called immediately, and EJ immediately laid out plans to leave – sending Kati Greene (Annalynne McCord) to tell Chad Dimera (Billy Flynn) while she made the calls. When Ana later confirmed that Tony was fine, everyone breathed a sigh of relief. But the timeline and details are unusual enough that I don’t think this story ends with a dropped mishap.

Ana insisted Tony’s delay was due to a business meeting at the port of Corinth and lack of cell service. The problem: Cruise ships are a solid bullet, and Tony knows it. If you buy Classic Soap Logic, a temporary change – or the return of andre in some form – can explain the same, UN-tony decisions. Ana’s first panic, followed by a “quick” call switchchveroo: puts switchchroo: stash the real tony and put in an impostor who can act quickly in Salem while the family thinks everything is normal.
Days of our lives: Greece, the Kiriakises, and the possible kidnapping angle
Greece is the country of Kiriakis – Victor’s place (and that family place). Did Tony meet someone imprisoned in Kiriakises? Or was he following the meeting and waylaid? The place, the port of Corinth), raises stakes. Did Tony purposefully aim for the disease because of the history of dimra-kiriakis, or did Tony stumble into a trap meant by someone else?

If Tony went down (kidnapped, swapped, Doppeldganged), who benefits? Andre (if he is alive), the flower family, or an outside player who wants to establish dimera leadership may all have motives. The new CEO leaves, Theo’s involvement, and Ej’s lab all increase the pool of suspects and agents.
Days of our lives: what to watch – red flags for upcoming teams
Keep an eye on the hidden personality of tony, the scenes where Anna appears “very relaxed” or unusual. Also, theo and more selections and references to Mediterranean contacts or old Stefano-era contacts. And any hints linking the lab to resurrection or body swapping. Those beats will prove whether this was a simple lost moment or the opening of something much darker.
The final take – a lost boat … or the start of something bigger?
Given the timing, Dimra’s history, and Boxle’s penchant for killing him during sweeps, my money is on this being a setup rather than an accident. Tony’s Mia terror has the fingers of the Dimea Umbrella Imprella Storyline – involving impersonation, kidnapping, resurrection of scientists – that will pay off during the anniversary / November.
