Saudi Arabia unveils $33bn Healthcare Development at the Global Health Exhibition

Saudi Arabia unveiled more than $33bn in new health partnerships and investments during the global health exhibition in Riyadh, underscoring its position as a leader in the health sector under the health reform vision 2030.

The huge investment, announced on the first day of the fair, underlines the State’s commitment to building one of the most integrated and decentralized health systems.

Held under the Ministry of Health, the event aligns closely with Saudi Vision 2030 and is supported by the Health Sector Funding program.

Saudi Health Investments

It serves as the Kingdom’s pre-eminent platform for accelerating change through strategic investment, innovation, and international cooperation.

The Minister of Health Fahd Aljalajel inaugurated the exhibition, while the Saudi Ambassador to the United States Remas BINT Bandar bin Abdulaziz delivered a virtual address.

In his opening remarks, Fahd Aljalajel highlighted that vision 2030 has continued to fundamentally change the healthcare system of Saudi Arabia.

He said: “VISION 2030 has given us enough opportunity to reset the health situation. We have moved away from treating illness after it has occurred before investing in hope”.

The minister described great progress in public health outcomes, noting that the Kingdom is very close to increasing life expectancy to 79.7 years, from 74 years in 2016.

Achievements include a 3m newborn pre-test and a pre-marital test.

Saudi Arabia also achieved a 38 percent reduction in deaths from 38 diseases, more than 50 percent of deaths from traffic diseases, and early detection of 70 percent of cancer cases – all important reminders of its health protection programs.

“This is the essence of Vision 2030, this is our health reform, and this is the integrated approach of the government,” said Aljalajel.

Digital Innovation

The global health exhibition, which runs until October 30, has become a hub for digital innovation in the health sector.

A day of two events focused on smart hospitals, implant intelligence in obstetrics, and the digital transformation of the patient journey, to highlight how technology is reshaping healthcare delivery across the Kingdom.

With its strong emphasis on AI, Diagnosis-Driven, and Securical-Centric, this exhibition demonstrated Saudi Arabia’s determination to build a health care system built on prevention, innovation, and global excellence.

Health Reform

This year’s investment and engagement rate reflects Saudi Arabia’s emergence as a benchmark for global healthcare reform.

By combining large investments in digital infrastructure, international cooperation, and a data-driven approach to public health, the State is rapidly defining what the national health system can achieve under vision 2030.

The global health exhibition stands as a testament to that ambition – bringing together policymakers, investors and innovators to shape the next generation of healthcare delivery in Saudi Arabia and beyond.
