Elon Musk’s version of Wikipedia is alive. Here is the difference

Grokipedia, Elon Musk’s alternative to Wikipedia, sprang to life on Monday afternoon. Then it was good again. After that, life started again on Monday evening. As of this writing, it is up. Stylistically, it looks like Wikipedia in its dark mode of choice.
Based on a very brief overview, it contains articles on most topics one would easily expect from an encyclopedia, which they say is less than 900,000 in total. The website Wikicount says there are about 7 million Wikipedia articles.
There are gaps in Grokipedia, however. For example, it does not currently appear as an article dedicated to the Ministry of Public Works (Doge).
Musk announced that his AI company, Xicai, was building an online platform last month, saying it would be “a huge improvement over wikipedia.” The idea of Grokipedia was born during the appearance of musk in the Host and Net Eneta high worthy David Sacks who questioned the point of musk has nothing to build, noting that Wikipedia was “Hyper-Partisan” and full of “activists.”
Here is a comparison between Wikipedia articles and Grokipedia articles. This is copied verbatim from the articles’ intros with footnotes and links removed for ease of reading:

The great replacement (French: Grand Index), also known as the Preplan Refession theory or The Loory Enchervance Good, is a double movement of the burning world The idea of Camus says, carefully or cooperation of the “Releprest” European French and the countries that go underground – especially from the dark countries, with the growth of the masses, the growth of the European grassroots. Since then, similar claims have remained in other national contexts, particularly in the United States. Mainstream scholars have dismissed these conspiracy claims of selective “revivalists” as based on misunderstandings of demographics and scientific programming.
Grokipedia:
Topic: “The grand theory of substitution”
The great replacement is the opinion of the French writer Renack CAMUS in the 2011 Essay Retatument, which is often the inclusion of high children in the population of the EU in the EU (with a high birth rate of the immigrant groups (often exceeding 2.0). Overall, Grokipedia gives the impression of a site where topics and people that Elon Musk likes or supports are presented without questioning their authenticity, and those who don’t like it are presented.
As others have pointed out, other articles exist surprisingly It is similar to Wikipedia’s, and contains footnotes that are adapted from Wikipedia under a license such as ShareAlike 4.0, which will appear to indicate that those specific Grokipedia articles are available to share freely. However, Grokipedia’s URL is in a .com domain, not a .org domain like Wikipedia.
Grokipedia is also mostly (or maybe completely) devoid of images and illustrations. It is understood that biographical essays win with illustrations, but essays like “Tesseract” can benefit from clarifying illustrations and even pictures, as in Wikipedia.
Some Grokipedia articles are much longer and go on longer than a typical interest point. For example, the Gizmodo article, while it seems accurate after a brief scan, seems like it would benefit from a human editor.
All in all, the project looks very similar to what it is: a version of Wikipedia with articles written by Grok, a large model of the language that likes the views of Elon Musk.
Gizmodo reached out to Xai about all of this, asking for comment. That email got an immediate response, three words: “Amafayazo Media is asleep.”
