Justin Fields Reveals Emotional Moment Before Leading Jets to Victory

– For todayNow you can listen to FOX news headlines!

For the first time this season, New York Jets quarterback Journuck Heartback stands at the podium to talk to reporters after Sunday’s win.

The Jerseys started a miraculous comeback in the fourth quarter to defeat the Cincinnati Bengals, 39-38, finally securing their first win of the 2025 campaign. It was the only nfl left without a win this year.

While Brece Hall’s touchdown run played a key role in the winning effort, the Jets’ last field goal in the game was in getting the win.

Jets fans and even the team’s owner have repeatedly criticized the fields. In fact, there was no way to be sure it would even start on the road at Paycor Stadium on Sunday, as Head coach Aaron Glenn kept his decision close to his chest until it arrived.

After his breakout game, Fields revealed that the criticism and pressure to perform really got to him this week.

“I’m going to take a big risk here,” Fields told reporters, via Yahoo Sports. “This week, I found myself in my room crying on the ground, lying on the floor. I couldn’t be heard because of the problems. I just prayed over and over again, I just succeeded.”

Jets owner Woody Johnson publicly criticized his quarterback’s play during the NFL’s annual fall meeting.

“It’s tough when you have a quarterback with the caliber we have,” Johnson said in a press conference. “He’s strong, but something doesn’t mean anything. If you look at any head coach with a quarterback like this, you’ll see the same results all over the league.”

Fields apparently heard what his employer had to say, though he referred to it as “except for the outside noise at the end of the day.”

“I get that you own the club, but that’s outside of the noise,” he continues. “The biggest thing is that my teammates believe in me and my coaches still believe in me.”

When Fields got his first win as a Jets player, Glenn had been waiting for this feeling for seven weeks. The coach didn’t hold anything back, noting the Jets had the Bengals defense on their heels and continued the two-point conversion on a touch-to-the-back touchdown in the fourth quarter.

Without both wins, we’re probably still talking about a Jets team that can’t win on Monday.

But that’s not the case. Instead, the jerseys have Victory Monday, “and hope to build on their winning streak as they enter their bye week. They will return to action Nov. 9 at home against the Cleveland Browns, another struggling team.

“It’s been great for me spiritually, spiritually,” said fields. “When I was in the field, I was close to starting to cry, not because we won but because of the goodness of God. Yesterday everyone thanked me for the win.”

Fields went 21-of-32 for 244 yards with one touchdown to Tyler Johnson before the end of the first half. Hall added 133 rushing yards on 18 of his two-score runs, while throwing a touchdown to rookie tight end Mason Taylor.
