President Donald Trump announced on Saturday that the US will impose a 10% tariff on Canadian imports, releasing a “spoof ad” featuring former President Ronald Reagan speaking out against the tariffs.
Trump said the ad, which he released during the world series that started on Friday, was part of Canada’s “hope that the Supreme Court of the United States will come” to their salvation from harming the United States. “
“Canada was caught, red-handed, putting a fake ad on Ronald Reagan’s speech on tax rates,” Trump said in a social media post. “The Reagan Foundation said, ‘Create an ad campaign using selected audio and video of President Ronald Reagan.’ And ‘he didn’t get permission to use and edit the words.'”

Trump accused Reagan’s Canada of fighting badly, demanding the late president’s “tax preferences” when it came to national security and the economy.
“Their ad should have been taken down, immediately, but they let it run last night during the national series, knowing it was fraud,” Trump said.

He added, “Due to the misrepresentation of facts, and hostile work, I am increasing the fees paid to Canada by 10% over and above what they are paying now. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute is considering legal options in response to the incident, according to Trump.
The announcement comes just days after the President said he was cutting off trade talks with Canada because of publicity.

“The Ronald REagan Foundation recently announced that Canada has used a hoax, which is a hoax, showing Ronald Reagan talking badly about taxes,” wrote Truc Nomthoni on Thursday.
Earlier this month, Trump defended his use of tariffs as a fix for years of inequality, but he would no longer allow other nations to use them.
“We are the king of tax avoidance,” Trump said during a meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney in the Oval Office.

The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and the agency did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
