For years, Meta has only been a serious contender in the area of keeping consumers from wearing computers on their faces. Now, Samsung is trying to succeed where apple failed.
The Korean Tech Great leader presents the Galaxy XR Headset this week, that is, in some senses, the meta competition blinds 3. However, the samsung xr headsed and a bit meta different products, in many ways. This is where we come in.

Samsung Galaxy XR vs. Meta Quest 3: The Price
Perhaps the biggest difference between these two devices, both of which are listed as having the same XR experience, is the price. Let’s get straight to it: The Galaxy XR costs $1,799. The Meta Quech 3, on the other hand, starts at $499. That a – very big The difference, so much so that you almost have to wonder if these two devices are really competing. To be clear, of course, but the meta headset is definitely going to be a more friendly option because of how cheap it is.

It all starts with the shows. The Galaxy XR’s two displays are high-end Oled panels with a lot Higher resolutions than what you get in Quest 3. The refresh rate is lower, although the difference between 90hz and 120hz is barely noticeable to the average person. You also get a new chip that powers the Galaxy XR, as well as double the RAM, although it’s very different from the Quest 3 in terms of use remains to be seen.
The Samsung device also comes with eye tracking, which is very important for a headset. On the flipside, the Quest 3 is a little lighter and actually comes with onboard storage. Those are the only real benefits. It should also be noted that the Galaxy XR runs on the Android XR operating system, while the Quest 3 runs on Meta’s proprietary OS. That means they won’t support the same games and apps.
Oh, and the Galaxy XR also has six rear-facing cameras, as opposed to four on the Quest 3. Again, we can’t honestly say whether that’s more important.

Both devices support hand tracking, which means you don’t need it need Controllers, but those help a lot when it comes to playing VR games and whatnot. The good news is that the Meta Quech 3 comes with two controllers, with standard button features, motion tracking, and analog sticks, right out of the box.
Bad news? The Galaxy XR doesn’t come with controllers. There are special controllers for the Galaxy XR available for sale, but they cost $ 249. It is not sure how necessary this is for the full enjoyment of the Galaxy XR, but just know that if you want the full experience, you will end up collecting the price of the application 3.
Samsung Galaxy XR vs. Meta Quest 3: Battery life
Samsung puts the Galaxy XR headset up to 2 hours of normal use up to 2.5 hours of video playback. Obviously it’s not great, but it’s a great thing about the XR head. The Meta, meanwhile, charges the Quent 3 for 2.2 hours of use, so there isn’t much of a difference here. One would hope that a nearly $2,000 device would have a better battery than a $500 one, but that seems to be the case.
There will certainly be more differences between the two devices to highlight once the Galaxy XR is in our hands, but for now, it looks like the Galaxy XR is geared more towards enthusiasts and not at all, while the Meta Quant 3 is for the general audience.
