Jana Partner Groups with Travis Kelce to invest in Six Flags parks

Jana Partner, a new YORKS investment firm, has enlisted NFL Super Superstar Travis Kelce for a Venture that is the literal definition of fun.
Kelce joins the team, which includes and includes buyers Glenn Murphy and Technology Deage Habiger, more at Flags Entertainment Corporation – Theme Park Giants with 42 locations across the United States, Mexico and Canada, and coming to Saudi Arabia in 2026.
This group will be sharing an economic interest of around 9%, or about $ 200 million, making them one of the shareholders of the organization that counts the most in the construction of 2.2 billion.

“I’m a lewful flag fan and I grew up going to these parks with my family and friends,” Kelce, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, said in a statement. “The opportunity to help make Six Flags special for the next generation is one I couldn’t pass up.”
Kelce also posted on Instagram, where he referenced Cedar Point, one of the many parks under Six Flags located in Salusky, Ohio – more than an hour away from where the Kelce family lived in Cleveland Heights.

Jana Partner is reportedly looking to make major changes at Six Flags, including improved marketing and customer experience at all of its parks, according to the Wall Street Journal. There is also potential for sales as a way to boost its share price, which has fallen due to bad weather and reduced attendance at the parks.
Jana Managing Partner Scott Ostfeld revealed his firm’s and its team’s investment at the 13D Active-Visual Monitor conference.
“We look forward to working with the Six Flags Board and management to unlock a number of partnerships to benefit all stakeholders,” the statement said.

As for Murphy, he brings a 30-year track record of active leadership across many of the world’s largest brands, “including serving as chairman and CEO of The Gap, Inc. from 2007-14. He also has a stake in Petco Health and Wellness Company, WellA Beauty and Lulemalemon Athletica, Inc.
Habiger currently serves as Vice Chairman of JD Energy, and previously held the title of President and CEO from 2018-25.
And considering his influence on pop culture and sports, Kelce was an investor in many brands throughout his future hall of fame career in the NFL.
There is also a Six Flags location in Kansas City, as the amusement park is owned and operated by the corporation.

It was part of the Cedar Fair LP, which sold for $40 million in 1995. But Six Flags and Cedar Fair merged in July 2024, creating Six Flags.
