Spooky nes platformer, over N++ new indie games worth checking out

Welcome to our latest roundup of what’s happening in the indie game space. I held on for a while Ball X pit Long enough to share clean new releases and lots of details on upcoming games – some of which are coming soon. We have a notable review of the classic as well.

The next Steam Fest is happening in a minute, and you still have Monday to get involved by checking out the many, many demos that live for the event. Thanks in part (okay, almost entirely) to my inability to escape Ball X pitI have only tried the following few demos so far.

I am a person who likes Aerial_Kight disagrees And after last year’s sequel, it’s great to see Solo Developer Neil Jones (AKA AERID_KKING) Try something completely different. Aerial_Night’s Dropshot is a first person shooter with finger guns and dragons. It is a single player game where the objective is to knock out your opponents and reach the ground first. Like jones’s previous games, it’s stylish and fast paced. I plan to check out the full game when it comes down the line.

It helps to be a fast, accurate typer when putting words together for a living, but I’m not fast or accurate enough to win any rounds in The last sentence demo. This is a battle for up to 100 players where you type and have to block sentences (or other strings of letters, numbers and symbols) in the race until the end. If you run out of time, make too many mistakes or you can win, shine, with the help of a masked from with an obstacle in front of you.

There is a nice touch here. Typing the rules in the first few cycles is a smart idea on the part of the developer button. I haven’t gotten a round so far (I’ve finished in second place a couple of times), but watch some of the losers play. It’s very funny when the winning player pulls a bird from a revolver holder in front of them.

The last sentence is coming to Steam later this year. Maybe I’ll have learned how to spell “Sphinx” by then.

There are a few other Fest demos I’d like to try this weekend, namely:

  • Crashout Crew (Overloaded-Style Co-op Chaos with Forklifts)

  • Reanimal (co-op horror from the group behind Small little dreams and Little dreams 2We are divided

  • Slots & Daggers (As if I need another machine-based Roguelite in my life right now)

  • The ultimate guardian (SCI-FI Survival)

  • Sweet Atmosphere (We’ll get to that)

I was always looking forward The Story of Skate Because forever, but I think I’ll skip that demo. I’m already sold and I’m fine with waiting months before playing the whole thing.

There are a few Showcases blooming next week that you should definitely keep an eye on. The third annual version of Dreadxp’s Indie Horror Showcase is set for 1PM et on October 23. You can find that on YouTube’s YouTube channel.

After two hours, you will be able to synchronize the galaxies in the autumn showcase. This will include more than 50 games, including world premieres, gameplay trailers and other announcements. Games to be taken include PowerWash Simulator 2, Mouse: PI for hire and Densshattackall solid on my playlist.

New release

Micke Scary is a strange little boy. I love it when you get to play the game as a weird little person. The game of the same name is a spooky nes homebrew platformer from Calgames.

Scary Micke Can stomp on his enemies, or freeze or burn them after eating a meal. When the scarecrow scares the ducks, he becomes immune to harm because he sleeps. I appreciate it. Nothing scares you while you snooze.

Maskeli threatened it’s $10 on the itch. You will need to flash the ROM into an NES emulator to become a horror master.

The only reason I still have Flash player installed on my PC is that I can open it Nithat lives on my desktop, once in a while. I’ve been playing this freeware classic for a long time, and now there’s a good reason for many people to relive the third entry in the series.

As a thank you to M ++ Community, Metanet software is releasing a free update to mark the 10th day of the PS4 game show. Ten ++ is said to feature “developer’s most challenging levels.” Given how difficult these games are, that’s saying something. The update is available now on Steam and is coming to console versions M ++ Immediately.

Cabinet factory is an anomaly-hunting (ie spot the difference) game in the style of Exit 8. You’ll check out the scary hair cabinets built for use in movies and theme parks to make sure they haven’t been hacked. If you see an anomaly, you’ll want to get out of the closet immediately.

This is a $3 Horror Travel SIM from International Cat Studios and Publisher Friend Games that was created on Steam last year, and it’s just in time for Halloween. It’s out now on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, XBOX Series X / S and Nintendo Switch.

It’s coming

Later The bow and Ball X pitI was planning to take a break from roguelikes / roguelites before entering Hases 2. Alas, the latest game from the legendary Ron Gilbert is now due for release, and soon!

between Death by scrollingThe goal is to collect enough gold to pay the ferryman so you can escape Purgatory. However, there’s a wall of fire coming after you the whole time, so you’ll need to keep moving to try to stay alive. You’ll also need to avoid or dodge the unreachable furing Jeur as you collect gold and gems that unlock upgrades.

Death by scrolling from Gilbert’s Toybox and Skroprose. Coming to Steam on October 28th.

There’s a lot going on inside Silly polly animals. It’s safe to say this game is a shooter, but the release day trailer quickly moves between concepts and genres. There is an emphasis on survival horror, as well as puzzles and stealth elements. Polly will sometimes remove the board tied to her after a certain skateboarding sequence.

This is said to matter if the morphs appear as much as the gameplay does. After the escape of her Hellish orphans, Polly Works directly into the underworld and must make her way out of it.

Developer and Rerei Chernyshov and Publisher High Hat Studios are behind it Silly Polly Beast. Coming to Steam, PS4, PS5, XBox One, Xbox Series X / S and Nintendo Switch on October 28.

Coming to Steam on October 28th is a project from the collaborative Autoscopia designed to be played in one place. As long as you are here is a first-person game that puts you in the role of a woman with Alzheimer’s disease. Her memories of the past, including her late brother, merge into the present as Annie lives with her family.

As long as you are here It started as a student project by Marlène Delrive, who was trying to better understand what her grandmother was going through in her last years. “The goal is to create a mature and beautiful experience that shows the difficult suspension of losing not only your memory, but also your agency and the sense of time and space,” said the developers.

Let’s wrap things up with a new trailer for Sweet Atmosphere. This is a cinematic adventure where you play as a six-month-old baby. This particular child is incredibly intelligent and has psychic powers. Isaac just wants family love and acceptance but (horror of horrors!) a tech company wants to take the tot.

Like the ultimate fantasy game (amazing Before your eyes), is in control Sweet Atmosphere It’s your peepers through your device’s camera. It looks interesting, and I have to check out the next Fest Demo. Publisher Skybound Games brings it to Steam, Xbox Series X / S, PS5, Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 on November 11.
