Unfortunately, the global sumloud flotilla did not make it to Gaza, and the Israeli Navy crushed it on Oct. 1, boarding several ships, and arresting many activists – including greta activists.

After Greta and other activists were taken, the flotilla participant Ershin Çelik told Anadolu News Agency: “They dragged little Greta by her hair in front of our eyes, beat her, forced her to do everything that was thought of her, as a warning to others.”

Greta was fired from AREAITY on Oct. 6, and at first he did not talk about his experience, but he brought back the Palestinian conversations when he was asked about what happened during his arrest.

However, at the beginning of this week, he gave an in-depth interview to the Swedish newspaper aftonbladet, where he was accused of the worst abuse at the hands of the Israeli authorities during his five days in exile, including physical torture.

Once outside, Greta says she is forced to be ashamed again. “It was funny, mistreated, and it was all filtered,” she said. “Everything they do is very violent. People’s medicines are thrown into the trash can in front of their eyes. Heart medicines, cancer medicine, insulin medicine.”

Greta also says that they will not receive any food or water during their days in exile, and are forced to drink from the tap where “there are many prisoners,” and many of the prisoners are sick.

“He felt that he couldn’t ‘afford’ to cry because he investigated with breathing water,” she said. “It was very hot, like 40 degrees [104°F]. We begged all the time: ‘Can we have water? At one point, Greta said, about 60 people were put in a small cage outside in the hot sun, many with no place to sit on the floor. Representatives from the Swedish Embassy in Israel did not meet with the Swedish prisoners for three days, but Greta says “it didn’t do anything.” He also added: “We gathered and told them the price we accepted. Israeli authorities have denied Greta’s allegations, with the Foreign Minister saying in a telegraph statement: “All her legal rights have been reduced by her deportation and kept in her custody.”
