Greta Thumberg alleged that she was stripped, humiliated, beaten, and tortured by the Israeli authorities

At the beginning of September, the global sumloud flotilla left Barcelona with Greta Thumberg and 500 other activists from around the world in Gaza, with the aim of ending Israel’s aid to Palestine.

The Flotilla’s departure came shortly before a two-year investigation concluded that Israel had committed genocide in Gaza. On September 16, the United National International Commission of Inquiry shared its findings that Israel was “abandoned” by the international campaign and “planned a campaign of its kind for almost two years.”

Unfortunately, the global sumloud flotilla did not make it to Gaza, and the Israeli Navy crushed it on Oct. 1, boarding several ships, and arresting many activists – including greta activists.

After Greta and other activists were taken, the flotilla participant Ershin Çelik told Anadolu News Agency: “They dragged little Greta by her hair in front of our eyes, beat her, forced her to do everything that was thought of her, as a warning to others.”

Greta was fired from AREAITY on Oct. 6, and at first he did not talk about his experience, but he brought back the Palestinian conversations when he was asked about what happened during his arrest.

However, at the beginning of this week, he gave an in-depth interview to the Swedish newspaper aftonbladet, where he was accused of the worst abuse at the hands of the Israeli authorities during his five days in exile, including physical torture.

When he got off the boat, Greta says “a bunch of police” grabbed him, dragged him to the ground, and threw an Israeli flag over him. After this he said: “Everything went” from zero to one hundred. “

“It was kind of dystopian. I saw maybe 50 people sitting on their knees with their hands and their foreheads on the ground. “They dragged me to the other side where the others were sitting, and I had a flag around me the whole time. They hit and kicked me.”

Greta said that the managers were watching her as they slowly cut all of her personal belongings with a knife, and that they were kicked by the guard or if they were lifted up by the guard or others, they were ‘thrown to the ground and beaten to the ground.’ He was then taken to the building to be searched and pressed.

“The guards have no empathy or humanity, and they keep taking selfies with me,” she said. “There’s a lot I can’t remember. There’s a lot going on right away. He’s in shock. He’s in pain, but he’s going into a state of trying to stay calm.”

When Grete refused the documents she submitted that she entered Israel illegally, among other things, her hands were allegedly tied with a rope. He was blindfolded and put in a cold cell inside a car alongside other prisoners as they were being driven out of prison.

Once outside, Greta says she is forced to be ashamed again. “It was funny, mistreated, and it was all filtered,” she said. “Everything they do is very violent. People’s medicines are thrown into the trash can in front of their eyes. Heart medicines, cancer medicine, insulin medicine.”

Greta also says that they could not get any food or water during their days in exile, and were forced to drink from the tap there

Greta also says that they will not receive any food or water during their days in exile, and are forced to drink from the tap where “there are many prisoners,” and many of the prisoners are sick.

“He felt that he couldn’t ‘afford’ to cry because he investigated with breathing water,” she said. “It was very hot, like 40 degrees [104°F]. We begged all the time: ‘Can we have water? Can we have water? ‘ Finally, we shouted. The guards walked in front of the bars all together, laughing and holding their water bottles. They threw bottles with water in them into garbage cans in front of us. “

At one point, Greta said, about 60 people were put in a small cage outside in the hot sun, many with no place to sit on the floor. As the people failed, some entered the cage and asked for a doctor – at this point, the guards allegedly threatened to “gas” the prisoners. Greta said: “It was the level you should have said that. They held up the gas cylinder and threatened to suffocate it.”

At night, the guards can wake up the prisoners by constantly shaking the bars, shining a flashlight, and forcing everyone to get up. Greta suspects that she was also put in the bug-fekolate cell at one point. Hospitals from the Swedish Embassy in Israel did not meet the Swedish prisoners for three days, but Greta says that nothing was done.

Representatives from the Swedish Embassy in Israel did not meet with the Swedish prisoners for three days, but Greta says “it didn’t do anything.” He also added: “We gathered and told them the price we accepted. With the lack of food, water, torture. We show them the physical damage we had – the damage.”

“We said again: We need water,” said Greta. “The embassy staff said: ‘We will write that down.’ One of us, Vincent, said: ‘Next time we meet you, you must bring water.’ “

He says the embassy staff didn’t come back for another two days and didn’t even take out the water except for the half-empty one, which gave the prisoners that Vincent, “who was in a very bad condition.”

Greta was released and deported to Greece after five days in exile. When his suitcase was returned to him, “Preta was accused” was written on it in large letters, along with a star of David and a penis in the graphic.

“This is not about me or others from the flotilla. There are thousands of Palestinians, hundreds of them children, who are being held without trial now,” Grete told Aftonbladet. “What we have done is only a small, small part of what the Palestinians have experienced. In the walls of our prison cells, we saw bullet holes with walls of blood that were in front of us.”

He continued: “This shows that if Israel, with the rest of the world watching, can treat a well-known, white person with a Swedish passport in this way, just imagine what they are doing to the Palestinians behind closed doors.”

Israeli authorities have denied Greta’s allegations, with the Foreign Minister saying in a telegraph statement: “All her legal rights have been reduced by her deportation and kept in her custody.”
