Charlie Kirk’s murder emphasizes the refusal of public debate

“The best thing is to lack all the conviction, while the worse is full of zeal.”
William Butts Butler wrote those words with Europe after a great war, but wept clear this week as we buried Charlie Kirk, killed in 31st crimes. The young man who built a state of the global galara was insinued by a man who had found that the characters found there.
But here I’m beating over this disaster: Charie Kirk may have been the last American who truly believes you can change a positive idea of a good conflict. Think about that. When was the last time you saw someone exchanging positions during the debate? When was the last time when a Witness said that three of the most precious words in the English language: “I was wrong?”

My little son understood this belief. You called me after Kirk’s death and shared something that we might be affected by our national. “My father,” said, “I liked liking Charlie Kirk- I thought that people were not served.”
My son learned otherwise in the 2016 election, while in the trunk school. He began to receive several calls a day in the classroom in a sustaining class of how to support the person who truly believed in the modern Hitler. Those graduates – educated, intelligent people, literally thought that Trump was in Pari and Hitler and called my son because they could not adhere to such wickedness.
Therefore, in good faith, you make everyone a contact. From his account: “I came to a business school to read things like Accounting, not to practice defense called the Nazis. I ended up one of the most difficult times of my life.”
Let me improve the invisible Thesis: Charlie Kirk has died because we forgot how to hate them. Uign Chesterton observed that “the true soldier does not fight because it is sighing before him, but because he loves the next [or next to] He. “We have said the hatred of our enemies but loves our fellow soldiers and the intentions of our country. Make this sound of politics.
Since my son loses friends, he makes something understandable. Soon after Jump’s elections, he stopped participating in politics – watching stories, talking about and friends, and reads the daily articles. “I found myself in the body when the news happened,” she says, “he told me. “Protecting is called Nazi, racism, gender inconcisingly, inconcilably common ideas as a police protest, or classmates in George Floyd actually during a short time.”

My son learned a difficult, unpleasant lesson at the time, one of the many disciples learned in recent years. Today’s university, where the Kirk came together at the end, the opposite of what John Henry He saw in writing “university view.” Newman thinks the centers where “the practice of mental form of life, their qualities are free, equality, balancing, and wisdom.” Instead, we build stress factories, where students pay $ 70,000 a year that prejudice has confirmed and caused them.
The founders would immediately accept Charlie. Franklin and his junto, Hamilton and his newspapers, Jefferson, all understood that democracy is an argument, not an answer. Madison wrote to Federalist 10 about the danger of the group, but never thought we would solve the party’s problem with murder.
Here’s one of the wrong thought: The problem is not our political universities. They are not politics in the old “political” sense Aristotle meant he was calling a man’s political animal. The University problem is that indoctrinations creativity, especially in the brain of freedom. A real politician requires involvement in the difference, residential and disagreements, ability to persuade than forciles. Our compasses take a political environment for theology, and especially unbearable religious.
We have made the cost of conviction as high as skilled, discreet people returning to a fully fight public fight.
My son refused to show his concerns: “At such times, when I hope I’m guilty, I live in a way like Harlie and live like Bill.” He meant Charlie Kirk, of course. Some of the money you considered to the Father – to me. I am humbly humbled but worried of his confession. When he agreed he dropped his hat off to the house, he entered the world of the political politics, found comfort and delight. But what expense in our society?
This is what we have done in our water. We have made the cost of conviction as high as skilled, discreet people returning to a fully fight public fight. We have created a world safe where confidence is safe, it is safe to agree despite, be safe to hide than stand. There is a specific relief from that. But it doesn’t appear outside the cost.

The question before us is not that we will have more than Charlie Kirks – young people who are willing to make their hatreds for their beliefs. We will. The question will be to be very similar to my son and my son who returns to public engagement because the cost is higher. Few people are very bright I know of political entry – they dreamed of Venture Capital, secret equivalent, places where the talent can flourish without asking the picture. It makes a cruel feeling: Make enough money, and maybe you can contact the change you want to see in society, be safely installed in the crowd.
If we are unable to make America safer to deal with conflict – not just a civil dispute. With its actual Eutymological concept, democracy means “People” power sounds like the energy in the outside. If you do not finish rage, you are at home to grow your family and will work. The most powerful political movement draws to brightness between us, not actually the wisest.
Charlie Kirk is dead in 31, but the idea represented – that Americans could contradict its truth to the truth than shooting the way of peace – they must not die with him. My son’s generation deserves better than choosing between peace and death. They deserve what Charie Kirk tried to give: a place on the table, a word in the conversation, and the right to speak without being killed without being killed without being killed without being killed without being killed without being killed without being killed without being killed without being killed without being killed without being killed without being killed without being killed without being killed without being killed without being killed without execution. Our children and our grandchildren are worth it.
